Hi, I also have fine low density hair and U started my loc journey in 2022, so I'm now 2 years and 5 months. I cannot wait to reach 4 years locked because it is my belief that the hair loiks good when you reachb4 years locked. My hair has started looking good at least much better than when I was first locked and it was scalpy very scalp.

Good to see ya! My 3 yr sisterloc anniv is in July. I also had thinning edges at start but several retightenings ago she put in some baby locs on my edges. Truly was the best decision I made for my hair!!!

Yes I either do it after washing or when it just needs it. I spray with distilled water if it is not already wet. Then I lightly oil my scalp and rub the oil down my hair good. Your hair has brown a lot and it looks sort of like mine. Mine is very thin in the crown still. I'm working on that. I will be locked 2 years come January 2021. I usually wear a center part, but I bantu knot the bands so they will have some wavy body, and then i pin some hair back with a barrette to hide my crown area. Do you ever braid or curl your hair? It's really nice!

You mentioned loc extentions...I want some so bad but can’t find anyone to do it. My hair is different lengths, so I can’t wear it out...I’m still wearing wigs. I’m 5 1/2 months in and with fine hair...it doesn’t look presentable 🥴

Oh no, yeah, I wore headwraps and wigs when needed. As for loc extensions, I did them myself (twice). I think it really depends on where you live. Are you in a major city? Or do you trust your DIY skills to do them yourself?

Is it safe to steam your hair while having sisterlocks?

Erika Dangerfield I’m not sure what you mean by “safe.” I’ve steamed my locs and have a video coming next week with me doing so. I wouldn’t suggest it if someone has “baby” locs or are prone to slippage unless you don’t mind the extra moisture, which may lead to slippage. As for my hair, I love it and my locs feel great. 👍🏾
