I love my sister locks. I am one month in my install. I had the dry scalp. Had my first re tighten. With the type of hair I have. I can’t put water or any liquids in my hair. Since my journey began I have learned that all advice is not meant for everyone. Your messy bun is so so cute on you. With my hair right now because it’s early and my hair is not locked I would have major slippage. Let your sunbird know they should check with their consultant before spraying hair with water 💦

I spray lightly with water daily and sometimes I add some drops of tea tree essential oil to the water for dandruff or scalp control.

@Let's Journey Hi! Thanks for asking. It's going great, it's getting fuller. 6 weeks are coming up next weekend for retie. It's my 1st wash since as well. My hair grows fast, so those roots were ready since last week🤭 I can't wait to see them once it's washed & tied. I'm loving it tho...bonnet on at night, take off & go in the a.m. it's awesome!

I am so excited to start my journey in the next week or so. I have always liked dreads, but started noticing this style about six months ago. I am natural, but never wear my natural hair out. I have length, but it has thinned out. I am hoping the sister locs will help me get my volume back.

haven't been on my game with the moisture but i will be doing that more. i actually went to the fabric store and purchased some stretch charmeuse satin fabric and made my own loc soc of sorts. it's ok but i need more room so guess I'll be making another one. cute bun! I'm not quite there.

Just got my daughter some sister locs . She loves them. She got them on he 28 of March . We braid her hair at night no she sleeps on a satin pillow.her scalp was dry initially but I put the Talia coconut oil spray on her scalp. She has 4c hair . I see her locs maturing in 6 months

I've had my Sisterlocks going on 3 Yrs. in January. Best decision I've ever made. I used to say I wish I got them at the beginning of my natural hair journey. I'm glad I didn't because I learned about my loose hair and don't miss that experience. Enjoy your Sisterlocks!

I had my first set of locs for 5 years and my hair was just so damaged my crown area was constantly breaking off so I decided I wanted to try my natural hair for a while so I cut off about 4-5 inches of my hair and combed out the rest and I will NEVER do something like that again bc it was a nightmare and my hair was so damaged I ended up trimming so much that it turned into a cut lol!!! It took a full year and a half to get my hair back and not in ready to do it all over again but microlocs bc I feel like the regular sized locs were too big for my curl pattern so I had a lot of slippage even after 5 years! Sorry so much typing lol!

My sisterlock consultant didn't give me a starter kit :-(...all she told me was to wash it every week with suave clarifying shampoo. She also told me not to put any products in it, why were you told to put leave in conditioner in yours

Hi just watched your vlog. I've been on my braid lock journey since January 17 2016, I started it myself, I think I have about 500 locks😳. I researched on products . I use rose water and vitamin e oil mixed in a spray bottle, rather than water. I shampoo with Dr Booner,s peppermint liquid soap, it's excellent. And that is it, I don't use any other products on my hair, don't need it. Give it a try

hi ! congratulations ! I have tried different things on this journey which I documented in the sisterlocks playlist I hope that helps. I used the starter kit that I received when I got mine done and now I just use Costco shampoo it's the one I show in my recent wash routines. use a satin scarf in the beginning stage

+Decoded Deviny it can be expensive but there are ways around the price maybe you can find someone who is a trainee and charges less or if you're starting with a shorter length that usually cuts the price down as well. also once you get it installed you can maintain them yourself there are videos showing how women are self maintaining their sister locks without going to a loctician

I used to use solo many different products and its liberating to not be a slave to any products anymore. its amazing my hair is shinier now with nothing on it and I even hate having any product on my locks like when I do a curlformer set and I use a wrapping foam for that. my only issue is patience. I'm ready for them to mature because I hate having to braid and band when I wash. but with my texture it'll be at least a year b4 they lock. but still love it!
