Thank you Melissa! I had my sisterlocs install 6 months ago and I have been questioning big holes/gaps in my locs. I have also noticed what you called serpents tongue at the base. These things have really given me doubts that my consultant is using the correct rotation for my texture. I'm afraid of my hair becoming weak and breaking off later as I mature. When I ask questions I'm not getting answers that are informative. Currently beginning to look for a new consultant. You videos are educational and I appreciate you sharing knowledge with us. Thank you for the info! I was trying to figure out what was going on with my hair and the serpent's tongue you spoke of. When I first got my sisterlocks, after a few weeks (before my first retightening) a few of my locks slipped in that tongue shape at the base. I had my first retightening the last week in July, and none of my locks have done that again, yet, but I am afraid they will. What can I do to prevent it from happening? I have a 3 pt. pattern at the base, with reverse 4 down the shaft of the lock. Do you think my consultant should switch to a 4 pt. pattern to prevent this from happening? My curl type is looser which is why I think she wen with the 3 pt.

Some of my locs have a knot in it and i hate it. It's smooth, a knot appears, and then smooth again. Is my consultant doing wrong? I want my locs to be smooth and even.

+Karasi Adjoa Good Luck, maybe it's a reminder for others, make sure you are financial ready to commit to Sisterlocks. Once those locks have been accidentally joined it's near impossible to separate and locks reconstruction is a costly service provided by professionals. Choose wisely...

Hi!!! I noticed that I have some holes towards the middle of my locks. I have only been locked for 2 1/2 months. Is there a way to close the holes since I'm not completely locked? My consultant claims it comes from me spritzing my locks.

Difficult situation as I don't know your hair. Your Consultant needs to observe how she is interlocking you & you need to be in your hair less until this issue stops. Maybe more of a light spritz?

spritzing locks? Holes are typically from passing the locks through the same place. Spritzing should not be causing holes. That doesnt make sense

I just got my sisterlocks and on some locks my trainee only locked the beginning and the end of my lock. She left the middle of some locks unlocked. Is that one of the sisterlocks tecniques that depends on my hair texture? I’m so confused.

I've had someone argue to me that interlocking and sisterlocks are the same. I know they're not, however it's hard to explain the difference to others. sn: I have sisterlocks
