First i want to say your hair is beautiful. My SL are 6 years old and i am really concerned about my hairline & want to retighten my hair myself. You mention that you retighten your locks. do you have a video for retightening long locks?

Audrey Taylor hey Audrey how are you? Yes I retighten my locks but don't have a video. I am not at liberty to do so because in taking the SL retightening and Trainiee trainee you are not to disclose the techniques used to retighten locks. Sorry.

Perfect! Thank you so much!. I have newbie 2 1/2 month Sisterlocks and I was wondering if there was any way to help with the hairline. I think I wanna tell my consultant to not retighten my front locs all the way. I actually love the look of that anyways. Thank you again for explaining how you take care of your long locs. I want to go to the same length as yours so thanks for the heads up lol #forevermyinspiration

Hi, love your channel. So, all those box dyes and semi-permanent colors harm your hair growth? And can you use Eco Styling Gel?

Good evening Ms. Charles, wonderful video very informative I am wondering how I can eliminate / lesson the number of times I am applying hair-color because my roots are probably 40 - 50% gray and my locks are approximately 8.5 years old so if I allow the gray to come in I will have dark brown hair at the ends and silver at the roots. The dye is really drying...any suggestions? BLWalker
@PRCharles10 жыл бұрын
Barbara Lattimore-Walker Hi Barbara I am not a cosmetologist. Have you spoken to your colorist or cosmetologist? Can get back too you on that one. I have a few friends that are cosmetologists that deal heavily with gray hair. I'm sure they can lend a few suggestions. :-)
@barbaralattimore-walker795210 жыл бұрын
P. R. Charles Yes, thank you I have inquired however, most suggest waiting until I am older. However, my concern is that I need to color my roots at least every 6 - 8 weeks and I think the use of permanent dye is drying and thinning out my hair especially around the hairline. I look forward to your suggestions. Ms. Barbara
@PRCharles9 жыл бұрын
Barbara Lattimore-Walker Hey I consulted with my friend (she's a cosmetologist) she offered that it's best to color professionally because boxed colors are different from professional colors. Also when coloring follow with a deep condition (under the dryer for 15 minutes this will keep the hair from drying out) She said you might be coloring often due to stubborn grays if so you need to get a soak then colored. A soak solution. Run these ideas between your cosmetologist I am sure she/he will come up with a solution that works best for you. I hope this helps. :-) If not inbox me.

Hello you mentioned the fact that hair color can stunt the growth of your locks , what about henna or an organic color?
@PRCharles8 жыл бұрын
+DD Bryant. Natural henna is excellent. Mind you you want the pure one and not the one with metallic salts. Organic color can mean anything. Organic is so loosely used now. Hope this helps. Don't know why I am seeing this now. Just glad I can answer your question. Thanks for sharing =)

pretty sure color is the reason why my hair isnt as long as it should be. I dont have sister locs but they are about the size of a half a pencil.
@PRCharles8 жыл бұрын
Hey 79blt! Color can be a doozy with locs. Do you do hot oil treatments? Color is funny. Oil fades the color faster yet it keeps the hair well lubricated to seal in moisture to help the accumulation of growth. Thank you for sharing. =)

@PRCharles10 жыл бұрын
TheDtfamu89 is it the white bulbs that's on the end of the hair shaft that's caught up in the loc? If so kzbin.info/www/bejne/faKYq3ypYtKHj9k. If not I haven't a clue what it is if it isn't lint or those white bulbs or "dots". Hope this helps. :-)

How long does it take you to retighten your hair?
@PRCharles9 жыл бұрын
+Nesha Christian-Hendrickson I can knock it out from start to finish 6-8 hours. I usually take 4-5 days and do a couple hours. That's plain retightening the locs nothing else. :-)

How did you achieve that hair style 💋
@Sam2260my8 жыл бұрын
Great Video. I loved my hairline until I met Mr. Snow. When I live in a warm all yr aroung climate, honestly I won't even oiled my hair for 2 weeks and I didn't have a problem with breakage. Now, I won't dream of doing that ( I tried this for a whole and my hairline disappeared by Spring). Now, it's slowing but surely growing because I have started to : 1) Sleep with a wrap + bonnet on in the night. Personally, I have to ensure the wrap is a little tight around my hairline, ( because I toss frequently in the night and the bonnet slides off my head ) then placing the bonnet on top. 2) Moisturize my hair more frequently. The LCO ( Liquid, cream, oil ) method is the best so far. 3) Cover my hair ENTIRELY outside the house in the winter. On a side note : To style my edges I have started to use Curls Blueberry bliss curl control paste(tried it at my Aunt's house). It is the only edge control product I've tried and like ( honestly, after trying two- Olive Oil ORS edge control and Swing it Control gel- I did not try any again because I felt as I was going to be searching for a long time ). For reference, I have the thickest, coarsest hair you can imagine- think comb breaking even when it's 2 inches .
@PRCharles8 жыл бұрын
See +Sam Simpson. What you are saying is very valid for many. I know it is for me. Winter hair requires for some a lubricating (oil) and moisturizing (water) routine. I have experienced my most thinning in the cooler/cold months when lazy to hot oil and wash on a consistent schedule. Yeah. Our hair likes moisture and humidity. The cooler colder environment reek havoc. Dry brittle easily broken off hair. Yes In the winter I cover my head especially the roots. It ain't no joke. This is serious. Thanks for sharing your remedy and routine.Love it! =)

On my job I have to wear a hair net and it is pulling the hair line, can you give me any suggestions
@PRCharles10 жыл бұрын
Desery168 You can wrap your hair with a silk scarf then put the hair net on. If you don't want to cover your whole head with the scar you can a silk scarf and fold it into a bandana like shape tie it gently around your hairline and put the hairnet on. You can use a bonnet wrong side out, like the one I use and put a hair net on. The texture of our hair makes it easy to snag on certain fibers. The hair net over silk will hopefully should alleviate. You can use satin but silk is much better. :-)
