LOL...you emotionally detached from a couple locs. Too funny. I combined my SLs in the front and LOVE it!!! I went thru a stage of wearing a locsoc for a few weeks. I liked it because it pulled my locs out of my face, so I get that same relief now that I've combined them. The fullness in the front became too much for me. That's one of the reasons I sported a barbered cut for so long. I felt like my hair took over my face (if that makes any sense). I do plan to combine some rows in the back also, but I like the fullness back there so not all of them. This is all to reduce time spent self retightening. Oh, if you're a clay rinse person, I believe there is a clay that removes chlorine. It's either bentonite, kaolin, or rhassoul.
@lavenialivinglife5 жыл бұрын
CarrieToo There are moments where I have to remind myself that it’s just hair and that it’ll grow back. Clay huh? Shea butter was mentioned too. These won’t cause build up?
@carrietoo5 жыл бұрын
@@lavenialivinglife the key w/clay and locs is to not create a mask (thick) but a rinse (very loose). I'm not a fan of butters. But i've used clay rinses w/my SLs and haven't had a problem.

Love your hair! New subscriber here. How many locs do you have in total? I hear you have to have at least 400 locs to be classified as sister locks. My lock seem to be about the same size as yours, but I have only 237 total. I'm really just trying to get a sense for what my hair would look like once it matures. EDITED: Oops...now this is why you shouldn't comment until you're DONE watching the video. Ignore my question please. Thanks for the info. Praying those two blocs get the memo and get with the program already More grace on your loc journey. Thanks for sharing with us.

I wear a swim cap for the sea . I wash my hair normal in tap water. I want to know what to do for freezy hair baby locks
@lavenialivinglife5 жыл бұрын
Criso Wells Try twisting them! Spray them down so they’re slightly damp, twist & let dry. That’ll curl them, stretch them, and minimize the frizz. This helps me anyway!

I hear it's good practice to saturate the hair completely with non-salt water and then coat it in shea butter. Regardless, you would still need to wash all that gunk off eventually. Salt water and shea butter are not exactly best for locs.
@lavenialivinglife5 жыл бұрын
brown eyed I think I’d be too afraid to use shea butter. I’m hoping water saturation does the trick next time.

Am thinking of getting sisterlocks and I do my research am noticed 2 common problem 1. Lint 2. deadhair bulb showing. Please let me know how you deal with those issues
@lavenialivinglife5 жыл бұрын
joyce muli For lint, I haven’t had any issues worth mentioning. I’ve just been mindful of the clothes I wear and what I lean against. What are deadhair bulbs? Are you referring to the little ends sometimes barely attached? Doing twist outs masked some of that for me. A lot of times it popped off too but I did not encounter this too often.
@joyk30705 жыл бұрын
@@lavenialivinglife thanks for your reply..with deadhair bulbs I meant the white roots of the hair one loses.
@lavenialivinglife5 жыл бұрын
joyce muli Ooooooh that is an issue for me. I just try to embrace them and keep my locs moisturized. Washing my hair tones down the visibility.
