I think Julia and Suzanne's relationship is one of the best portrayals of sibling dynamics ever. And I think the major credit for that goes to Dixie and Delta's chemistry together.

Dixie was the epitome of class, kindness and strength. It's nice to have positive role models, even if it's scripted TV.

I was thinking the same thing, especially considering all of the images that're on social media and the perception that instagram influencers ( not all but many) portray that they're lives are without any problems and who don't realize that there are people out there that really believe that what is portrayed is true and try to emulate what they see either for themselves or try to force that 9n people around them

Cannot believe that Dixie NEVER won, nor was EVER even nominated for an Emmy for this show. And the show only won one Emmy for hair. Tragedy!!!!!!!

This show had such great writing. Julia’s monologues were and are so quotable and memorable even now. Love this show. The first four years were the best.

I loved this show! The four women on this show reminds me so much of my five sisters. They have always been a team. They can talk about and tease one another relentlessly, but let someone else say something they will go all Julia Sugarbaker on someone in hot minute!

It was never the same after that. No shade to Jan Hooks, Julia Duffy, Judith Ivy, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, but feel like they should have just ended the show when Delta and Jean left.

It just hit me...Suzanne Sugarbaker was the OG Karen Walker. Rich, but works at an interior design company. Has a latina maid. Complete attitude. AND had a nemesis (business manager who imbezzled all of her money) played by Leslie Jordan.

The Dowager D. Julia & Suzanne did have the same father and mother. It is explained in the Season 2 Episode "Oh Brother", which is about their half brother Clayton. Julia & Suzanne's parents had Julia, then they got divorced. Their father then married Clayton's mother, then they divorced and he remarried Julia's mother and they had Suzanne.

My sister looked like Delta Burke in her late teens early twenties. She was prettier than her. Didn't have the garish make up. After she had her children, she began to gain weight. People treat her like crap. She lives in Northern Virginia, with all the snooty people. Natalie Portman has the most popular nose, my sister's nose looks just like it. I tell her well at least your looks are real, no plastic surgeon made you.

This "Southern" sitcom confronted serious issues of sexism, racism, and homophobia better than most "serious" dramas of its day all while still being hilarious. 💁🏻‍♂️🏆 (*read in Julia Sugarbaker Georgia monologue speech) And THAT, so YOU will know, and your CHILDREN will know, is the legacy... of... Designing Women. 🧐
