I liked the way Andromeda was the most enthusiastic, when Bellatrix asked them, if they wanted to meet Voldemort, and when she actually saw him, she became disapproving, because Andromeda saw who Voldemort really was.

Their mother mistaking Andromeda for Bellatrix is actually correct to the books. Harry got upset when he saw Andromeda in the seventh HP book because he though she was Bellatrix. I’ve always loved that detail.

So, Andromeda was excited to see new magic, NOT voldemort, she lived her sisters and was interested in power, she was ambitious, thats why she came into Slytherin, but as soon she comes in by the dark lird and sees how bad he is, she is a bit of scared. I think thats why she changed her emotion so fast

Book fact: The first time Harry met Andromeda, he shouted at her because he mistook her for Bellatrix. Then she walked into the room (she'd been stood in the doorway) and is described as having lighter hair and a kinder face. She probably only looked nicer because her sister was thin and pale from Askaban, meaning in the past they looked even more similar.

I believe the idea here that we wanted to convey way (I just shot and codirected it, didn’t write) was that they were all excited, similar and meeting Voldermort kinda changes all their paths and sets them on their inevitable destiny. Andromeda meeting him is terrified and now wants nothing to do with him. Bellatrix gets excited and develops love for him. Narcissa, is a true neutral, torn between her two sisters

When i first watched this, I was also confused why Andromeda was so eager towards the darks arts, but the more i thought about it, it actually does make sense. That was how she was raised so naturally thats how she leaned, and it wasnt until she actually experienced the true horrors that came with following the dark that she decided on her own to take another path.

Here’s a theory on how the Marauders knew what the common rooms looked like: They used James’s invisibility cloak, followed a student from a certain house to that house’s common room and went in the common room and found out what it looked like

Or they could just have sent Peter in to snoop around in his animagus form, because who really notices a rat? This film doesn't ring true about Sirius. By this time he was not with his own family, or at least he would not have been calm about attending a family wedding and interacting amicably with Bellatrix. And he definitely wouldn't have shown the Marauders' Map around, since it was such a secret among himself, James, Remus, and Peter. If they wanted to include one of the Black brothers, it should have been Regulus.

Bellatrix is actually eight, almost nine years older than Sirius; he was still with his family at the time but he was like 11, not in his late teens. Regulus would have been a little little kid at the time so he wouldn't have had anything to do with it.

I loved Gary Oldman's portrayal, but he and the others were definitely too old to be the characters as described in the novels. The problem was that they needed actors in the same age range as Alan Rickman, or it would have been too weird, having Snape be 15 years older than his classmates.

@@Shan_Dalamani in the movies it doesn't bother me so much because at least they're adults. Sirius in particular could have aged quickly due to being in Azkaban. But seeing someone who is clearly like 22 years old playing a character who should be 11 or 12 is irritating. I also don't think they were working on the Marauder's Map in their first year; I don't think the creators of this film verified the age gap between him and the girls.

I actually read the music box's playing at the end as showing Narcissa's love for her sisters since it started playing when she promised Bellatrix that she'd destroy the pensive. I saw the pensive as a symbol of Bellatrix's torture at the hands of her father. She'd have to use it every night to make sure another memory wasn't stolen from her. In the end, Narcissa destroying it would mean that instead of Bellatrix relearning what she did or who she was, she was free to be herself (even if it was a monster) just like Andromeda was. Because as we saw in the seventh book, family was the most important thing to Narcissa.

Morgan, I looked a bit into the film a few days ago because it’s probably my favorite fan film. The reason I’m pretty sure why Andromeda was more on the dark side at the beginning was because obviously she’s part of the black family which is a reasonably dark family. When Andromeda was younger, she cared mostly about making her family proud and originally marrying pure blood. After the weird sisters gig though, she realized that she was deeply in love with Ted and changed her mind completely. Her beliefs changed and later she even abandoned her family to be with him.

Voldemort's design in this isn't that far from how I imagined him before his first defeat. He still looks human, but he's well on his way to become the creepy, snake- like creature we all know. While I agree the effects on the Cruciatus curse were unnecessary, they kinda fit with the way the spell is supposed to feel like: an electrocution.

Don't think Narcissa's hesitancy at meeting voldemort is out of character. She always Seneca set in her beliefs, just not fully committed to voldemort, to me in the movies at least. She puts her family (loved ones) before him and never officially joins the death eaters. She realizes already it's a dangerous and unpredictable scenarios for her sisters to be partaking in, regardless of if she believes muggle born are inferior.

I really liked this fan film overall. I feel like some of the story got jumbled up at parts and was hard to follow, sometimes. But, I loved the overall concept and the effects. The set design was also really creative. Also: Kelsey promoted the crap out of the film when it came out. She vlogged bts of the whole thing and did many q&as. From my PR expertise (almost a bachelors), she did outstanding with pushing this project.

I think the reason Andromeda is so eager to see Voldemort is because she also asks, ‘is there new magic?’, so I think for her it’s more of a way to learn new magic, which would be helpful to know in order to become an Auror. Also, we constantly see the Malfoys wishing they didn’t have to serve Voldemort, so it would make since that Narcissa would hang back and not express too much interest.

I think with the scene where Bellatrix brings her sister to her dark lord, i understand that Andromeda is interested in seeing the "new type of magic" as I see her curious to see what is out there at a young age but she isn't that blinded by it like Bellatrix. Meanwhile Narcissa is hesitant because I don't think she is really interested in it that much. She likes the status but I think she just wants to keep up with her sisters and keep the family in tact

I actually think that Andomarda (sorry I’m a horrible speller) had the happiest life out of the 3 Black sisters. (I mean, yes, she lost her cousin, her husband, & her daughter WAY too soon in life). BUT she had someone she TRULY loved in her life & who loved her back, she was away from her abusive family, & away from Lord Voldemort (for most of her life). She also got to raise her daughter away from all the “pure-blood mania”, as Sirius puts it in Book 5 (I think 💭). She got to raise her grandson, too (with Harry, Ginny, Hermione, & Ron’s help, I’m sure). But that’s just my opinion. 😉🥰💕

Yeah but she didnt have the happy ENDING like Morgan said. Narcissa had the happiest ending. Lord voldemort was defeated by harry so her, lucius, and draco got to live happily after the wizarding war. She got her "happy ending" as andromeda did not. Andromeda's husband n daughter died while narcissa's son n husband lived. Bellatrix got the worst as she died lol

One thing you missed is the fact that Sirius is at Bellatrix's wedding. Sirius looks to be in his mid twenties and by this point he had been disowned by the Black family for running away. So the fact that he makes an appearance in the wedding doesn't make sense. Unless the wedding is before he ran away which would make sense as he is still writing the Marauders map.
