The EP3 is a beautiful car, the engineering that goes into their DOHC VTEC engines is very impressive, I had an Astra VXR, had a bit of power at around 240BHP, but torque steered like a bitch and didn't seem to be able to put the power down properly, plus it started going wrong. Whilst the initial feeling of the VTEC kicking in brings a smile to your face, it is nothing compared to a charged engine, I had a 2.2 VTEC Prelude once which had a few mods, a spoon chip and a few other mods to suit and a VTEC controller, you can "tweak" the VTEC profile so it comes in for longer and earlier, and the spoon chip made it rev off of the counter, close to 10k RPM, it sounded like a motorbike - that high pitched revving sound under VTEC. I'd say worth looking into the smaller mods like that to begin with then when you get bored / used to that change it or get a turbo kit.

The EP3 is 18 years old and is still on BHP par with modern day boosted cars, so don't get "actual" power comments. Any idiot can plant their foot down on a boosted car but not everyone can drive an NA engine to its full potential, it's becoming a forgotten skill and for me it's nice to see the younger generation taking interest, shows a true petrol head

@@TheRaceAcer if it spins in 5th gear it means your tyres are absolute shite not the road, I've had to replace my tyres in my Celica 4 months ago due to a pothole which blew my tyre as I've got thin ones, and last night heading home from work I nearly fucking got swept out on a bend in the rain going on to the motorway because the tyres are absolute shite in the rain, the rear end lost grip when I wasn't even pressing the gas pedal, I'm getting them changed this week already to proper tyres. Tyres are everything, if you spin at 5th gear it means they're crap and most likely totally worn out as even crap new tyres wouldn't spin in 5th

I very rarely leave comments on KZbin, well unless they are ripping into people who have no idea what they are talking about, but you mate, you are something else! I've seen all your uploads and am eager to see when the next one is released. I'm a lot older than the vast majority of subscribers here, but the thing is that I am still learning. Another great thing about you is that you learn as you go on and you aren't ashamed to admit that. I'm single after a long marriage and now I have a car that I love driving and arsing about with, now I have something else to spend my money on. So watching your videos is an inspiration to do my car up. By the way, I have a 2001 Ford Cougar, 2.5 V6 and it is shit off a shovel fast. She's only done 70k and drives and looks like she's brand new. In regards to this upload, the gradual smiles that your dad and sister gave when you booted it were priceless. The type r has 8 bhp more than the vxr so I can't see it being any quicker If anything the vxr is faster slightly Though the Honda has the better engine over the vauxhall but keep a eye on oil levels
