I love this scene because Olivia has NEVER had anyone choose her, willing. Fitz is literally saying "you are the most important thing in my life." That scares Liv because in her her head "to get something" "you have to give something" and they still make not "choose you", or they will hold it "against you". Olivia had been through so much trauma and she felt like she didn't deserve true love. I think this was where she finally realized that she and Fitz were meant to be together...and that both scared her and exhilarated her!

her father taught her that power is all she needs that love is a weakness so thats why she don't date. She has a history of being with powerful men but she only had sexual relations with them. She fell in love with Fitz and that wasn't the plan. This man is willing to give up everything for her and thats why her dad can't stand him. Calls him a boy cause with Fitz with or without presidency Fitz is a powerful man regardless.

i think liv is always confused.. she knows outright that she is equally in love with Fitz as he is with her.. But she has lot of other things in mind ( Fitz as the president, being a mistress, her career, her country, Fitz's marriage , his reputation and etc). So she always ends up hurting him.. saying mean things to him.. On the other side , he is very confident of what he wants in life when he says "that I love you more than I love being the President".. At some point you come to know your mate so well with a familiarity that it becomes boring and you question why this person is even here. Which is why marriage is such a beautiful thing. It is the choice to go beyond that wall and experience living faith that your beloved is who you believe they are and experience the truth. That there are even more treasures to be found deeper then what the surface and conscious has to offer, it's just that you have to dig for it and pursue it daily. Like dating someone you already have, yet learning greater depths unseen. Outside of marriage you will never have that and greater unhappiness awaits you.

Your under the impression that marriage is able the physical aspects and assets, but that's only because your parents failed to teach you the truth. One generation back of use to be that we were people of our word and when we made a vow it was so solid you could take it to the bank. Now because y'all think its okay to not show up when you say your going to or do what you said you'd do and just give Excuses to you marriage is nothing but a chain and complication and penalty. A person would rather have a solid commitment that leads to a 50 year relationship of ups and downs bound together in a convenient(marriage) and possessing it fulfillment then to be in a open relationship full of off and ons, multiple partners, one sided "love", and always being hungry something that you can't describe get subconsciously you can tell you don't have and is out of your reach.

I am so in love with Olitz. I wanted them to end up married in Vermont with at least 2 kids. It's so sad that Shonda Rhimes and those in her camp didn't appreciate Tony and Kerry's acting chops. These two are fire together! The show's writing became so unhinged that I gave up on the show after season 2. It became so unbelievably foolish. You couldn't keep up due to the inexplicable actions of the main characters and all too many plot holes. I'm hoping for a follow-up to Scandal maybe a movie or miniseries that depicts a happy, healthy Olitz.

What’s such a waste of time is, Olivia didn’t even actually love Fitz, or herself for that matter. She wants people to feel guilty about situations that She starts. Then when they actually do come around, she ditches them. Fitz gave up his presidency, his fame, and his marriage, for her. You could just tell Fitz was in love with her. He treated his wife like they were already divorced. They were literally only together cuz the media. When Fitz gave it all up, like he’s been wanting to, Olivia “discovers” she didn’t want Fitz, she wanted the White House. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Sad that it was obvious from the start. She was a major hypocrite, especially with Mellie. That really ticked me off, especially since Mellie went thru the most.
