Not necessarily. I only have vague general-pop-culture-knowledge about several of these characters, and I love this movie for giving me more of an impetus to do a deep dive into them. "I understood that reference!" always feels satisfying, granted, but so does the dopamine spike of "oh yeah! I remember now that I always meant to get a Gambit omnibus, he seems pretty cool from what little I've read/watched of him"
@TimpanistMoth_AyKayEll6 күн бұрын
@@アキコ2003 Because you gotta start somewhere, and not everyone enjoys doing things in the prescribed order? And because it is, oddly enough, possible to enjoy things without going all Special Interest on them. Personal Analogy: I'm into dog training, so I often catch myself thinking "Why would anyone ever even get a dog if they're not going to teach it 200 tricks and compete in several dogs sports??" ...But that's MY WAY of enjoying dog-ownership. Some, in fact most, people are "casual dog owners" and that's fine. Most people are casual enjoyers of most things, it turns out. See also: "neurotypicals" ;)

I love that they didn’t waste Elektra, Blade, X-23 and Gambit. They took them serious and gave it one their own standout scenes. Channing Tatum was PERFECT as Gambit. The cards, the costume and the accent, they nailed all of it perfectly.

When that tribute played during the credits, it hit me really hard too. Even though alot of the movies in the reel were not exactly received well by their intended audiences, myself included, I was reminded that no film is ever made with the intention of being bad. An entire generation and legacy of Superhero movies of which I grew up through my teens with in one way or another shaped and directed me into the man I am today, and for that I will always be grateful for the magic 20th Century Fox brought me and to so many others through the years.

This movie was a great love letter to all the Marvel X-Men fans. I got the feeling it was also a thank you letter from Ryan Reynolds to Hugh Jackman for playing the character, as well as the character himself. Hugh Jackman's acting was top tier in this, from his comedy timing to his emotional scenes. The mid-credit clip was also a great homage to all the X-Men movies, the characters, and especially the actors. GODDAMN, I want more of this! This is a huge act for the new Fantastic Four to follow. They're gonna have to knock it out of the park!

This is my favorite version of Wolverine ever. That speech in the car was all about him being angry with himself. Yeah Wade makes him mad. But it’s the not taking things seriously that Logan has the issue with. Because that’s what he did. That’s why after that fight they basically become friends. He let him vent in a way that hurt no one. He went to sleep not drunk. The first night in many years I’d guess. I’d watch a show about Logan just living a normal life. Making friends. Being a leader for the community he’s living in. The hero stuff is great. But I want to get to know this Logan. 🤷🏾♂️👍🏾✌🏾

That movie was a trainwreck. I admit most of our "beloved franchises" have pretty much hit rock bottom, but one of the reasons is, and I am mature enough to admit that, that they were made for adults. The original SW trilogy was great and to me it will never only be Nos 4, 5 and 6. Never liked the "prequels" and what came after it was also pretty to very bad (apart from Andor). Same with Marcel, DC or whatever universe. Looking back they started losing their sheen after the second of third movie in the line. And trying to maintain or raise future fanbases with endless continuations, back and forth timelines, sequels, prequels has proven to be one of the worst ideas in film history. And please don't tell me because Deadpool falls a bit our of the norm, that it is any better in its third installment. The endless brainless banter, sexual innuendo, and the mostly bad jokes get really tiring even in the first movie, but not as bad when it is paired with the repetitive growling of a really empty co-character, senseless fights between two immortal superheroes and lots of recycled (and not really iconic) protagonists from yesteryear. In view of all the bad content fans had to endure in the last decade I really wonder how anybody can sit through this 2 hour avalanche of horse dung.
