Glad someone made this video. I wondered about this a couple of years ago and ended up with the gale force set. The price difference really did it for me with the kuiu being $400-$600 cheaper. Really love it for late season elk and moose rifle hunts or anything else outside in extreme weather but definitely to loud to effectively hunt whitetails in the late season

Iam fan of both love my sitka but i like the camo on kuiu better or the fact you can get soild colors which is cool

I own a bunch of each and have my favs from each manufacturer but when it comes to extreme conditions I'm a Sitka man 100%. Both make fantastic gear but I'm voting Sitka every time. I do have some of KUIU's warm weather stuff like their Kutana pants and they are excellent but all of my really cold weather/wet weather gear is Sitka.

I prefer solids too but really.. this gear is made for single digits and below. Who's going to care if you're wearing camo at those temps?

The Sitka bibs look like they are 2 sizes too big, I hate baggy clothes like that. One thing is for sure the camo from kuiu looks way better haha even though looks don’t matter that much. Little things like the waterproof cuffs with the fleece hand warmers and fleece pockets make a big difference, wish kuiu did that too

Good review. Can you weight each and list that as part of your ease of movement segment? More weight means more exertion and more calories burned on a long hunt.

I’m 5’4” 150lb do you think medium size Sitka parka and bibs won’t be too big for me since they don’t make them in small size? Thank you.

I think you'd be fine with a medium! They fit me fine and I'm pretty close to that size!

I'm 5'6" and around 160 both sets were a medium and were big enough to fit clothes underneath especially the tops.

I think for walking in the tropical jungle Kuiu material does seem more puncture resistant

How loud is the kuiu kutana Gale force. Can it be use for whitetail hunting?

I sometimes spot and stalk in puffy clothes haha so personally I think it depends how deliberate your movements are. Do you want to spot and stalk with it or tree stand hunt?

You need to check out the Proximity line or the Super Down Haven line from KUIU if you hunt whitetail when it's freezing or below. The Encounter line is awesome when it's a bit warmer and is DEAD quiet. I wouldn't go with the Gale Force unless you are in truly frigid and wet temps. I own a Proximity set and an Encounter. Good gear, and it should be. Costs a fortune.

The Sitka pattern is garbage for my hunting environment. I've been going down the KUIU road for a while.
