I can't lie...that's one of the best commercials I've ever seen lol

I’m an old school Sitka fan, had Sitka clothes from almost the beginning of Sitka launch, I have the mothwing pattern and the original elevated. So I’m not knocking Sitka, but this cover pattern, Sitka is making it seem like it’s a whole new camo design and a whole new revolutionary camo pattern. Truth is it’s basically the same elevated 1 color from way back, with white taken out. Could just said it’s a redesign of the original elevated 1, relaunched as cover, haha lol.

I hunt mostly in Missouri, started out wearing EVII and have since switched over to Subalpine. Obviously Subalpine was meant more for the mountains, and EVII for tree stands and more of a late season approach, but is there anything in the works as far Midwest fall colors go? Maybe EVII with darker brown and more fall-type colors would be huge. Ya'll keep it up!

I hunt in Missouri as well! I personally think subalpine runs great until the trees are bare and then switch over to EVII

2:15 - Genuine question, what does this info say about your current whitetail pattern, EVII, which some have historically criticized for being too blue? Obviously human eyes are not seeing everything the way deer eyes are, but I have to imagine that pattern is reflecting blue light with so much white and cool gray present.

I would also like to see the results of EVII. I have to imagine they tested it.

Thanks for tuning in and for the question! EVll performs exceptionally in its intended use case: hunting from an elevated position with a backdrop of bare tree limbs and sky. EVll matches the spectral signature of that environment under blue and yellow light spectrums, which are the colors deer perceive most. Simply stated, it comes down to how animals see in distinct environments. No pattern works in all environments and lighting conditions. We need to pair the science of animal vision and the characteristics of the surroundings to create the best solution. EVll is the perfect pattern for later season when the leaves have dropped.

That was my thought exactly. Karl Miller indicated in a separate youtube video interview that it's best to avoid camo patterns that include white in the pattern.

Interesting, how did your current patterns work during the test and other manufacturers patterns fair? I would guess that the results are so good that would share the results of this study? Nice looking gear for sure.

Thanks for your question elkhunterguy. Our other Optifade patterns perform exceptionally well in their intended use cases and environments. The science of Optifade is rooted in how animals see in distinct environments. No pattern will work perfectly in all environments and lighting conditions. We need to pair the science of animal vision and the characteristics of the surroundings to create the best solution. We do this by testing the spectral signature of that environment and the pattern under blue and yellow light spectrums (these are the colors deer/ungulates perceive most) For instance, EVll is the perfect pattern for later-season whitetail hunts from a treestand when the leaves have dropped. Our Open Country pattern performs well in open prairies or rocky terrain.

What about Northern Pine Forests? I hunt mainly in Scandinavia, I currently run the Subalpine line. Have you done research into what pattern and colours work best in that type of terrain?

Is cover a good pattern for early-mid season hunts in Iowa?
@SITKAGear2 ай бұрын
Hey Cody - Cover will work well during mid season. However, when all leaves have fallen off the trees in your region, we recommend EVll.
