In America our 2 main home supply store Lowes/Homedepo sell 48 inch post hole digger replacement shafts that work. They are thick and fit very very snugly but work. Shovel handles work if you want a shorter shaft. You can't get a shovel handle greater then 30mm in America at 48 inches.

South Coast Detecting Would it be to much to post with the handle? And how would I pay you for if you posted it? Cheers

I think the post office won’t take it over a certain length...

Great video Arron, so informative, helpful, and well presented. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on with the beast of sand scoops ! ATB MMMD

I thought the Ezimate handle was a great idea but after lots of searching it appears that they are no longer available anywhere. Pity. Great video otherwise. I used a fibreglass extendable paint roller pole from Wickes. I cut the end off keeping the aluminium pole inside the fibreglass shaft for strength. Screwing a self tapping bolt through the sand scoop and into the shaft to secure it, applying some silicone around the fixing to help keep out the salt water, not that it will harm the stainless steel or fibreglass. I've yet to decide how to construct a handle where I may have fixed an Ezimate.

Nice vid mate! I've got exactly the same West Country shovel handle on my scoop, I nearly snapped mine a few weeks back but it's holding up, was looking for a handle that attaches to the shaft for when your hands are slippery and you get the suction affect when digging a deep hole in wet sand, it will be easier to pull the scoop out with that! Is it quite strong plastic?? Not likely to snap with a full scoop of wet sand? Also thinking of getting a coob V1 scoop for the dry sand too, saves lugging the big scoop around if I'm just doing the dry sand. GL with your new scoop mate, looks good 👍🏻

Is it the 170mm or the 200mm version? Compared to my actual scoop, it seems to be fairly light at 1,1kg. Are you satisfied with it so far?
@SouthCoastDetecting6 жыл бұрын
magicmaui77 it’s the 170mm version, not had a chance to use it yet I’ll get out with it this week
@magicmaui776 жыл бұрын
Ok, I think I'll order one, too. Seems to be a good compromise in size. Only wished the distance between the holes is 2mm. Wonder how it performs in damp / slightly wet sand..

Great video Aaron, I bought the same two scoops for the same reasons. My advice to anybody using the big brute is use with a gloved hand to avoid blisters, speaking from experience last week., Good scoops at a good price. Regards Neil
