If you do find your coupling out of shape due to over tightening, use two or three old sockets one at a time to gently knock into it (only part the way) working your way up in size till you have worked it back to shape.

Another tip. Make sure your fingers are not directly below where the drill bit comes through, otherwise your going to get a nasty surprise.
