This song was unearthed from remote village ditties sung there. Sirapadu means guy, Sittarala Sirapadu means wonderful (or weird) guy. In the eastern corner of West Godavari district (Narasapuram-Palacol-Bhimavaram belt) the word pronounced too as Sidapadu (Sidapa means girl). Lyric is very meaningful & the action translates it. Telugu film industry is doing great service to Telugu literature too, bringing out such songs that most others didn't even hear of. Another (that comes to mind) is "Katamarayuda, Kadiri Narasimhuda " (the temple deity in Kadiri, Anantapur district, AP, is known as Narasimhudu & Katamarayudu) picturised in "Attarintiki daredi" film, on the pair - Samanta, Pawan Kalyan & others.

Jaya Chandra You meant Italian traveler, Nicola di Conti who toured Vijayanagara Empire in 1420 & said Telugu is the "Italian of the East" (language), because in both languages every word ends with a vowel (unlike most others where most words end with a consonent).
