Today is the third part of our trip out around the country. After landing in Sacramento we headed over to the next airplane we bought sight unseen and are going to check it out to see what it needs to get it running again and rescue it. Will we be able to resurrect this engine or will the years of sitting be too much?

​@@dannyjonzeThe opinion is based on evidence. The ntsb interviewed witnesses who said they didn't see him check the fuel. Water was found in a fuel tank and a gas cap gasket was missing. The evidence suggests that he got in a hurry and cut corners. Sad story. RIP.

Talk about cold, my dear Mother was born in Hibbing, Minnesota, often the coldest city in our great US of A. Gave me the shivers just watching ha ha!. Joe ever the trooper, putting in those long hours on the road. As Joe said, "Definitely not a pleasant drive." The Piper looks solid Amigos and hopefully there will not be to many surprises. Left side looks to have fiberglass pink insulation. I know of another Piper that had that and there was a LOT of corrosion behind it

The Brazilian company Embraer produced under a Piper licence the model Cherokee Six. The EMB 720 Minuano is basically a Cherokee Six, and the EMB 721 Sertanejo is an updated Cherokee Six with retractable landing gear.

So with Lycoming's that have been sitting, why not fill the engine over the cam and hand rotate a few times, then drain down to full level ... Seems a way to ensure cam and bearings are wet before starting 🤔

Spent time South of the border, has modifications to allow increased take-off, landing and load-carrying performance from short/unprepared fields. Hmmm; I 've got a few theories as to what that aircraft may have been up to down there...

tune up oil, change fresh plugs wires mag check. Drain the fuel [furl] fresh battery if It starts runs up to temp then finish an annual etc fill her up breaks check struts make sure she stops two thirty minute pre flight inspection new tires 🛞 definitely wash beacon works landing light inspect fuel cap rust nose cone change earl in feathering if it has it run up inspection check it once check three times gauges work get the engine hot lol for earl leaks leave no stone unturned. Me fly one for a bit then go look for a new project

Dear Jason, This Piper PA-32-300 is lightly different than the Piper PA-28-23 but that’s by the bigger interior the 32-300 has. I think you must have a bigger passenger accommodation. Some projects don’t get as many views as others and sometimes if they don’t get enough views the content creators choose to not bring them back to the channel and focus on what people want to see and what gets the most views. You may have really enjoyed the boat but others may not have. He has to show what people want and project planes seem to be it.

I remember the yaught! You know in a perfect world everything work they way we want it to work out! Well, the truth is it isn't a perfect world & we have to be able to adapt the situation that happens along the way. Like the 401 project has been waiting on parts that have been ordered. Now we are all got a gut punch due to the tragic accident that took Sam's life. It may take a bit of time for these guys to get passed the shock of that traumatic accident & loss of a friend's life. 😢❤

Have you watched the previous videos?? Those rescued airplanes are revenue builders and, part of their mission. Hence the name, Rebuild Rescue. The revenue from the sale of those rehabbed aircraft go to fund the 401 rehab and bolster the nonprofit for humanitarian efforts. All of this is outlined in previous videos but I do think Jason needs to reinforce that message more frequently.

There is already a video out there of the initial reports and the theory behind what happened. I don’t blame these guys for not getting into it. Sam was their friend and they may not want to talk about it. The man just passed away. They may never want to get into it. Frankly, I don’t think they should have to. The proper authorities will determine the cause and make it known in time. Everything else is hearsay at this point.

Sam, was a very close friend to Jason and Joe. Plus Jason really isn't a seasoned professional that has the background and years of industry training to be the one to speak on those issues. Not minimizing or taking anything away from Jason what soever he simply should be respected with privacy and as he heals he might share more in the future. I feel that they all want to be thorough in their work and seem to make corrections as they are pointed out.

@@benjaminlann They should do it for THEIR viewers, and for themselves. That's just me. They should at least talk about Aeronautical Decision Making, aviation safety. Maybe not in detail surrounding Sam's decisions, but at least address some aviation safety. You shouldn't build a network of followers and subscribers and not promote aviation safety especially after a horrible accident like this.
