The corrosion issue - the condition of the spars , the scary propensity of 520's to break crankshafts - i saw a perfectly flyable G35 go down to junk, not even usable as parts - in a salt air environment, coastal NC (KSUT)sitting outside for over 12 years. Good luck with it.

Nice Bonanza. I notice after lubricating the cylinders, you started to rotate the prop counter clock wise, if the aircraft it's equipped with vacuum pumps, and you counter rotate the engine, there is a good possibility of damaging the pumps, but again, I may be mistaken.

You just fired it up without changing the oil after 13 yrs? Water mist grinding evrything.

My comment comes from a place of ignorance, but that prop looks tiny compared to the aircraft to me. Is that typical or is there a larger prop that was available for that plane or why is that prop disproportionately small to my eyes?

Starting is NO criteria of airworthy. You might just ruin any chance in your haste and enthusiasm.

Sweetest plane I ever flew. I was a fairly high time A36 pilot before Alaska and an air taxi service. This model is in a class by its self. Bring i5 up to 135 standards and keep it for life. Dont mess with the avionics. Fly it and fly it some more. Spec the jets and new plugs before flying. Dont forget the brakes and shocks. You might want to cycle the landing gears in the hanger before flying. I personally would want it signed off and cert. before a test flight. I flew the TC B only once but on a long XC with passengers In the system. A dream to fly.

Only thing rarer than the plane will be the parts.

That’s a beautiful airplane on a person buys. Something like that. You’re better off spending more on the initial purchase getting something. It’s in good condition and stuff like that. That’s how I buy my equipment. I have a 580 case backhoe had 3500 hours on it and now it’s only got close to 5000 is still an excellent running shape , that better in the long run

Bittersweet Bonanza, but truly a genuine Unicorn esp. w/1400 hrs. My belated condolences to the PO on the passing of his beloved wife...that part of the story hit me hard and his sentimental attachment to the airplane made it this all the more of a heartfelt story. that thing is a beauty. I wish I could find something like that, from someone who has a plane sitting but can no longer fly. They can maintain part ownership, if they just let me take her up a few times a month... Happy to take them flying too if they can no longer hold their License....

Garmin. Looks good, feels good. BUT, airplanes like these are made to be steam gauges only.... Don't change to Garmin is going to be my say, keep it like that for as long as you can ;)

I’d 100% fly it with the original steam gages. Glass panel would be nice but I learned to fly using the old school panel. I’d be right at home.
