Yeahhh I’m in a couple & it’s definitely a dangerous game. I hate commitment, but I desire affection & romance so it’s like what do I do? Be in a relationship unhappy? Or be single & my needs not tended to. Thats why situation-ships happen. But theres such a thin line that gets crossed & it causes hardships for one side over the other…

Plus his allergy is something that a percentage of Asians have and it wouldn't cause him to die 😂 in fact many Asians with the same thing just take some benadryl before drinking and after, and they're fine. They just get more flushed/red (generally that is the first and main sign) and they're skin may or may not get a bit itchy/hives, but it generally isn't bad and isn't a life or death situation.

I remember my one & only situationship from about 5 years ago... It was one of the most traumatic experiences I've ever dealt with in my entire life. And I've had more near death experiences than I shouldn't have been in considering I proclaim myself to be a pretty tame individual. I empathize with everyone in this video but I empathize the most with Vincent, as his situationship mirrors closest to what I went through in mines. Being in a situationship with someone when you want to solidify & sustain the bond you have with that person by being in a committed relationship when they don't know if they want the same thing, but you don't know how or don't want to let that person go from your life is one of the greatest forms of settling. If you're in a situationship with someone and you want something more out of it but the other person is not willing to meet you half-way then do yourself a favor and just find someone else who would ACTUALLY love to be with you or be alone and focus on yourself. Situationships are nothing but mind games & confusion (with the added benefits of physical intimacy) which breeds insanity & contempt. And if you're not mentally equipped for something like that, it can be pretty devastating. This video kinda shows a microcosm of that considering the ending interaction of all the "couples" here was not very positive. /rant

So I’m old But Situationships are clearly for those who are cool with unrequited love and scraps, and for those who are just waiting for the real thing, without realizing these dalliances are impeding the possibility of meeting the real thing. And to address the imbalances The one who knows they’re more liked…let the person go, it’s selfish knowing they’re holding out and it’s never gonna happen. And yeah, they’re ALL adults, I get it but…as a human being with empathy it’s wrong to carry on knowing what’s what. It’s not a big deal when two people casually date with the exact same expectations. You can’t do it with one person hoping for more.

Situationships from what I understand tend to have more romantic feelings involves. But typically aren't sexually exclusive. And if they are, they just don't want to commit and have the responsibility of a relationship
@c.k.4883 Жыл бұрын
@@naut_nigelthis. Most fwb eventually evolve into situationships the more the people involved have sex with each other. It's that at that point it's hard to detach the feelings and emotion you have for that person from the physical intimacy portion of their involvement but do not want to be tied down to that person just in case someone else comes along that you would be willing to be committed to. I said in my own comment that it's one of the greatest forms of settling, but at the same time it's one of the greatest forms of selfishness as well.

No FWB is more casual than a situationship bc it's usually more on the platonic side and mostly sexual while situationships are closer to the relationship aspect but without the official label

This video really brought up a lot of old wounds for me. I guess this type of relationship must work out for some people, but I did it for 5yrs during my 20s and it left me with a lot of scars. I've moved on as much as I'm probably capable of, but the reminder of that time in my life sucks. I really feel for the individuals in these couples who are clearly more attached/in love/committed. I think that in order to step away from a situation like this, you need to love yourself more than you love the other person, as difficult as that may be.

@@kissberrywish no, that isn't what that is. You still get tested between partners, that's the responsible thing to do as a sexually active adult, has nothing to do with any relationship status. i dont like situationships but i am or was in one fairly recently ( idk where we stand rn ) and although it sucks to not have your strong feelings reciprocated as strongly, it feels almost euphoric to have it reciprocated at all in a sense. which i feel like is a dynamic in a lot of situationships. i also think that usually the one that is more romantically involved will love the other unconditionally therefore resulting in the person whos more romantically involved to wait for the other in a situationship even if they arent or never will be ready to commit to an actual relationship. ( i hope that made sense sorry if it was worded weird 😭)

I back this kind of situation. If it hurts, you get out but to me the idea is that we're single, we're all working on ourselves physically as well as mentally, and although i'm partnered now, I was single for 7 years, it always felt so wasteful being at peak optimal mode and not having anyone to celebrate that with while we're kind of waiting for that forever person. I do think that eventually continuous physicality turns into someone catching feelings, but if you approach it in an honest way, people can depart peacefully before that sets in.

An "ex" kept making excuses on why we should keep being in a situationship for 3ish years. We were in the "i love you" phase but he will never tell other people that we were exclusively together. That was the most toxic relationship I've ever been in.

my situationship went on for 2 years and lemme tell y'all if u are really in one of these, LEAVE. it may seem so difficult to and it may seem like things may change but I promise u it is not worth staying with someone who doesn't want to commit. It may seem like its impossible to find someone who is really down for u but I promise u the right person is out there. I am ashamed and sad at times that I wasted so much time on my ex situationship and I gave so many chances, continuously hurting myself to compromise for them and hoping they'd change. I am traumatized from the emotional and mental strain that had on me for so long. I ended things last May and I felt like I was fundamentally unloveable (given my past experiences as well) but way down the line a year and a half later I explored and found so many beautiful and wonderful friends and also the most loving and supportive girlfriend in the world. I am surrounded by people I love and people who love me as I come and it has never felt better to have that surrounding me. Things really do get better once you let go of what's holding you back and you put yourself out there and explore. Don't be afraid to make that decision for yourself because you deserve the best that's out there for you. Life is too short to wait around and be hurt. I hope this helps someone who may need some guidance and I hope others who have been in the same place have found their person and peace :)

I’d just like to say all situationships are not this bad, lord. If you constantly communicate with one another about your expectations and needs it can be a really fun time. Not everyone desires a committed partner, and this type of relationship is great if done correctly. These ppl who want their situationship to be their bf/gf have already messed up the ‘agreement’, it’s time for them to move on.

It is actually kind of sad that we put ourselves (yes, me included) in this kind of situation. Hope for the guy and girls who want more that they find someone that is open for a relationship.

Damn , this video brings me back to memory lane. Situationships always are multifaceted and cause some sort of hurt one way or the other. Intentional or not , good learning experience on both ends and as hard as it can be don’t wait on someone to love you and show up for you. So much more to live for than creating an image in your head of someone who genuinely knows what you want. I been on both sides and as far as stringing someone a long for your own benefits … you’ll always feel some sort of guilt and that same void until you stop depending on peoples emotions and validation.

Its hard to understand till you find yourself in one. I was in one and didnt know people had a name for it till now lol. Basically we were great friends that had feelings for each other and slept with each other and even dated on and off, but as much fun as we had together we both knew there was just some things between us that would keep us from being totally in a relationship. Like if we both had been tweaked just a tiny bit to the left or right we would fit perfectly but that was not how things where. So we ended up having a weird on and off relationship were i think both of us hoped things would change to make the fit perfect, it just never happened.

I think it’s more like, when you’re vulnerable, you have to open yourself up and lay it ALL on the table. Wear your heart on your sleeve bare, and that can be overwhelming. You’re speaking your truths as you feel them and opening yourself to possibilities of hurt in the process. In his case he might, like the girl said, change the subject. It’s not necessarily lying but it is probably giving half statements rather than fully flushed out answers that require long conversation. Longer than a CUT segment at least. But that’s just my two internet cents .
