anyone thinking about taking that next step and doing an SIV I highly recommend jocky. I did his SIV in turkey this year and now im a way better pilot. !! a lot more confident and safer. his calming voice when you are in the air is so valuable. I trust him and hope you get the chance to as well. you should learn from this master while you can.

dammit I have the same life jacket but my stalls aren't that smooth. I should try in butterfly valley.

Oh my God. It looks as tricky as a barrel full of devil juice. Then you're saying it's not as easy as it looks. I saw a guy with another Wing who had his risers mounted too far apart. His stuff was flopping around so hard he didn't have a chance of flying anything backwards.

I'm not sure I'm ready for an SIV course I've got about 15 flights on my PPG. What is the other option? A pilatodge did you say? (I'm sure I murdered the spelling)... what is this?
@JockySandersonparagliding2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brent, Pilotage is very similar to SIV but we focus more on deflations and manoeuvrability than stalls etc. But if you are happy and doing well then we can move onto higher end moves.
@FlyBabyFlyPPG Жыл бұрын
I did my SiV with 13 flight save my flying career and i love more full stall than spirals hahahaa.

Pulling the D's...D equals to brakes?
@JockySandersonparagliding2 жыл бұрын
The D’s are easier to pull and de-activate the main better while also offering an option of releasing them to fly if you need forward speed to avoid objects etc.
@JohnTosti2 жыл бұрын
I believe when referring to “Ds” jockey just means rear risers if you’re flying a glider that’s a 3 or 2 liner
@JockySandersonparagliding2 жыл бұрын
@@JohnTosti D's are the back risers that will go to the back row of lines, (before the brake lines), so yes.

I can’t see what stalling is good for. In turbulent air 90% of pilots won’t be able to master it and close to the ground throwing a reserve is the safest way…
@JockySandersonparagliding2 жыл бұрын
You can stall our of a cravat which could pull you into a locked in spiral, if strong. Stalls are not bad and if you are high, it is better to try stalling to recover,( if standard opposite controls do not work), than throw a reserve and end your flight. You don't have to go fully back in a stall to have the result you need and clear a cravat for example.
@lorenzsueess3132 жыл бұрын
I would love to see a real situation tutorial with realistic maneuvers to get away from it. e.g. what to do flying close to a rockface when you get a huge asymmetrical colaps.. or how to get away from that turbulent nasty cloud suck… blue sky / wind / problems of getting into a deep spiral when huge climb rate is apparent or what to look for and when a deep spiral or big ears are BDP? Keep up your good work. 👍🙏
