This is a story that highlights the Hmong culture and beliefs of a Hmong Shaman's journey. When a person becomes ill and sick, one for which science itself cannot explain, a shaman must be called upon for spiritual healing and answers. This is a very great video for our younger generations to learn and see what shamanism is about and for those who don't understand what shamanism is about, now do. I love watching it every time. I show this short video to my mom and she was amazed at how it portrays what a shaman does after he/she goes through the spirit realm. My mom said, "How come they don't talk or do more?!" I told my mom that it is only a short video clip for the song I know she wanted more, but she was happy.

Wow, thank you for this visual translation. Growing up watching my father as a shamen and being taught to take part in learning to reset his ritual table, this brings so much personal memories of my childhood as a traditional Hmong family believing in shamanism. I am sad to not be able to see and partake in what I used to be a part of but I hope there are many who we can still rely on when it is needed. Thank you for a wonderful production.

So to clear things up about the choice of costume pertaining to our Guardian of the Land/Judge. Upon interviewing our shaman, he states that upon his arrival to the underworld where there are forest and land of trees, he tends to see spirits and beings similar to that of the Native Americans. Although not all are in human form, they wear skeleton mask, most are shirtless, and run about with weapons. According to our shaman, each realm/tebchaws have their own set of rules and regulations, a shaman must consult with the Guardian of that land for which he/she is on before they enter and/or take anything. With that being said, upon interview, our shaman states that when in a forest, he visually sees the Guardian of the Land/Judge as a chief. One that is similar to that of a Native American Chief with a headdress and many accessories. So this choice of costume wasn't in any way, shape, or form used to offend, but as a choice to try and capture what our shaman visually sees upon his journey to the underworld to retrieve a soul. Please do understand and keep in mind that not every shaman visually see the same thing in the underworld. The visual concept in this music video was made following the journey of our shaman and HIS specific journey.

That's similar to what I've heard too! I was told that the land of the U.S. may belong to the Americans now in the human world, but in the spiritual world it is controlled by the Native Americans. Thus the reason why when most shamans travel to the spiritual world they would always meet with tus tswj Native American. Awesome vid🔥

It was very creative piece, there was nothing wrong with using the Native American clothing as a costume. I remember talking with a distant grandpa who is a retired Shaman, he ought to say that in the land of America the Native is a big part of it here.
