Actors did about half a dozen movies a year ? At most ?. Ilaiyaraaja was doing 40-50 movies a year. He didn’t have time to attend these functions. He probably turned down the invitation.

He has conveniently hijacked the event into a "Sindhu Bhairavi" success meet and as usual had to show off his "dialogue mugging" skills (which I agree is not at all easy, he does it effortlessly). This continues to happen till date in 2018 where he speaks out of context with the only objective of getting claps from audience and somehow brings his talking skills and self portrayal without any need for it. Nice man with a lot of values. Comment is just an observation I dint know he was always like this, thx for the old videos.
