Thank the Masters who brought this Yoga to the West. For that alone, India has earned her place.

I was there for the teaching training course of one month. I can say it was an excelent experience practicing the four kinds of yogas. I develop concentration and discipline that has helped me in other areas of my life as well. The Vedanta teachings were very reveailing and gave profundity to the yoga excercises. Plus the place is exquisite with its exuberant nature, and I must not forget to mention food that was delicious! I fully recommend that place!!! I cannot imagine anybody not liking it.

I went to the one in India, and it is totally safe! I lived in India for six years. I travel alone through the country of India and it was very safe, nothing ever happened to me. I also travel through Buthan and Nepal, and nothing ever happened. The spirituality you find in India is very especial, I dream of going back. Go ahead and go to India it will be a wonderful experience that you will never forget!!

Yep, yoga will transform your life in many ways (and is not essentially about the acrobatic prowess, even if that can be an" add on". Just simple moves with the breath will bring so much benefit at many levels. Thanks for this inspiring video.

If ever there was a time in history that we needed inner peace, it is now. Yoga takes there - to a state where we are ourselves. Only then do we know the oneness that truly is the state of yoga.

Why now or 3 years ago? Why do you think that? Seems senseless to me.

The irony is that we living in the east are often told to follow the western module of living and we are doing exactly that. While the westerners have extracted the essential knowledge of ancient India and taken it to a whole new level and we are learning about it from them, in search of some contentment.😉😉

I would like to offer that our ancestors' dharmic traditions and values will not, beyond a roadmap, serve or save us from the dharmic challenges of today. One can metaphorically or literally go into the forest for a yoga retreat on meditation, but how long can one stay when a forest fire is burning on every side. To separate oneself from the surrounding violence is like separating earth from sky. This is not to suggest that our practices are without merit or importance; on the contrary, it is to offer that the way and wisdom of our ancestors are not the way. If Patanjali were living today, he would not follow an eightfold path; rather, he would build it as a bridge! Something fresh, innocent, curious, imaginative, original, and co-creatively dynamic must spring up from modern soil. Without the weight of authority, these are the discussions we now need to have.

Am not an expert but I think the universe works in mysterious ways, maybe he come to this world to bring us closer to enlightenment, and now it's up to us to decide whether to learn from him or not. His life might have been short to us but he left us a precious gift and we are greatful. I send you lots of love. Namaste

Namaskar! Yes, I was in the same situation a few decades ago. Why did he die "young" and sick? Like Swami Vivekananda or Swami Yogananda. Coming from the Taoist tradition, where Longevity and Health are greatly appreciated, this was shocking to me. Recently, B.K.S. Iyengar and his daughter passed away, and were also sick. I don't know the exact answer. The Universe has a different decree and karma for every yogi and yogini. Peace, Love and Understanding!
