I dont remember my first battleground, but I remember my best openworld story. Back in the days of TBC I was a draenei enhancement shaman. Me and 2 of my friends were just hanging around in Nagrand (because that was our fav zone) when suddenly a group of Hordies showed up and killed us all for a few times and /laughed at our corpses. We had enough! At the age of 12 we were so Edgy, that we swore vengeance on them, and vowed that one day we will Siege Orgrimmar and make the Horde pay. Few days later I got the full "set" of the Phoenix Claws from Tempest Keep. We were pretty good geared and we thought we are ready! We told our guild mates about our plans and they thought this will be fun. They told their friends, through general chat, everyone and we had 2 full groups of allys. I was the leader of the first group, and my best buddy was for the other. We had a plan for the siege, naming that while my Buddy's groups march the front gates, My team will go around from the backside of Orgrimmar, and taking them by surprise from behind. It was a glorious battle, when we felt we are losing momentum, we regrouped at Ratchet, and sent out the next wave of attacks. I clearly remember this. We held OG for about 2 hours straight. and 2000+ honorable kills were made. From that day forward my Guild mates called me the Phoenix. And to commemorate this event. My shaman can never be something else. Just Draenei, Woman (because they are hot) And she must wield the Claws, or atleast have those. When they announced Tmoging, i was so happy that I can use these weapons again. This was my best moment in Wow

i dont remember my first BG but i do remember one thing. back in BC (when i started) i had a super slow laptop that was so laggy but i loved playing wow so much it didn't deter me. i was playing my main at the time which was a dwarf hunter named megarock with my black boar. i remember one time horde were raiding ironforge and so i was like omg i gotta get the hell out of here before i get killed. I ran out the front gates instead of taking the flight master because the horde were that way i was like no way im going that way. as i left the gates and headed down the path i ran into this orc warrior, now my pc is incredibly laggy so this bastard charged at me and alls i saw was him charging and then my pc froze i heard his weapon clanging and all. usually it just lags and next thing i know im laying on the floor dead. this time he beat my ass so bad it disconnected me and i had to wait like 5 mins before my pc caught up it was so embarrassing i couldn't even defend myself.

I joined my first BG when I was lvl 13 on my Human Paladin. I joined WSG and followed the other to the middle when it started. I just kind of ran around in the middle not knowing what to do, until I saw a lvl 17 Tauren Warrior targeting me and running towards me. I keyboard turned as fast as I could and started running back to our base, but he managed to charge me. I don't know how, but I somehow managed to do alot of dmg to him, and he did none to me. So then he started to run away from me, and I followed him. I managed to kill him with my auto attack right outside the Horde hut with Berserker buff, and then I died when the other Hordes came. And I've loved pvp ever since

The clunkyness of classic wow PvP was the thing that I loved too. Besides, I never tired of wrecking ass with Dark Edge of Insanity + Blessed Qiraji Pugio combo. That was before I landed a Might of Menethil. I dreamed of dropping a second one but I never did. Otherwise NOTHING would have stood in my way. Hell, even with my AQ weapon set, I wrecked so much ass that one dude on the EU-Emeriss forums at the time said "When you see in chat "Edril starts to charge" you know you're dead." That's stupid I know but being acknowledged on the community forum as the best pvp fury warrior in my realm felt me with incredible pride.

Well that's old so I have gotten stuff mixed up. I played Fury Warrior from Vanilla to Warlords of Draenor. It's like second wind - it's one of these talents you think you always had. My first experience was back when I was eleven, about ten years ago. My dad had a Wow account that he shared with me, but in this case it was his warrior character. He had queued up for Alterac Valley, but had to work on something, so he put me in charge. Without being told anything, I figured out what we had to do by aimlessly following other players and fighting as hard as my little fingers could go. I think we eventually won, but probably not because of me. I might have even actually killed someone.

My first BG was Warsong as well. In the middle of Wrath (before LFG and stuff existed), on my level 10 gnome mage, I stumbled upon the warmasters in Ironforge, and found out I could queue for something called "Warsong Gulch". I don't remember how it went, but I had a blast. I remember sitting on the roof of the alliance base, jumping down when someone went for the flag and ice nova'd them. I felt so useful when they died.

I don't remember my first BG, but I remember my first dungeon when I was still new to my Warlock, back in BC. I was on my own with players I never played with before. It was not with my usual higher level guildmates to guide me. I accidentally got the attention of two elites and was dying. I feared them...and killed everyone in my group. Two players wanted to kick me out, but the group leader and another were honestly laughing, saying that was an epic fail, but it was okay. That everyone has to have at least one. They gave me tips on what to focus on and do: the tank would eventually have gotten them off of me, or the healer would have rezed me, "Keep dots up," all that. It was fun, and I'm glad for those patient players.

The game has been out for 14 years. Everyone still fights in mid and ignores objectives. I question how humanity has produced civilization. I question why we even live longer than 14 years. According to the trajectory of my chart, players won't know how to play battlegrounds 14 years from now either. By that time the game will have been out for 28 years. Humanity lacks the capacity to learn that getting kills doesn't accomplish anything. Are we even capable of learning?

Love your videos Nixxiom. I never comment but I watch all new ones! Keep them coming! :D I had a similar story. My first toon was an Orc Hunter on the server Exodar, his name is Ugluck (which I still have him! 110). I had a cat that could taunt as well, this never worked on players but I had my own account and no online friends, no one could tell me what was right and wrong. I can completely understand being heckled about not know what to do. I couldn't tell you how many times I screamed at my PC because my damn cat wasn't taunting things like it should have. Things changed rather quickly for me though when I discovered my Blood Elf Paladin. Oooooh, I can still hear the alliance crying about my bubbles and self heals. Glorious

First pvp experience of a Legion baby : I started like a month before Legion so I just had the time to get my character, a Worgen Warlock, to lvl 100 before the start of the expansion. I was on a pvp server at the time, it wasn't really a problem while I was leveling because the server had a low population so I almost never met an ennemy player but when Legion came out a big part of the player base came back and suddenly my server had a high population. I choosed Stormheim as my first questing zone and it was a clusterfuck with all the player trying to quest in the middle of pvp fights, which I tried my best to avoid because knowing I was a complete noob I would get slaughtered. The ability to choose the order in which you visited zone also had an interesting consequence, if you were a bit slow in your leveling like me you could come accross player who where in their third or even last zone while it was your first, so way above your lvl. Eventually I got to Helheilm and as I was questing there a Blood Elf Retribution Paladin charged me, she was 106 and I was 102. I was a Demonologist, so I summoned as much demons as possible and spammed life drain to heal me while my minions were doing the dirty it job, and it fucking worked ! I killed her and then she resurrected and attacked me again and so I killed her again ! I am not entirely sure on how I was able to do this, I didn't really care about metagame at the time so maybe Demolock were broken in pvp ? Or maybe she was just really bad XD

My first battleground I can remember pretty well. And I already knew the concept of capture the flag pretty universal game mode for many games. So here I am, a level 43 Undead tank warrior going through levels and dungeons and feeling unstoppable and unkillable. This was during Wrath of the lichking before cata was even mentioned yet. I join a BG thinking "Yeah I am a undead badass tank nothing can kill me". So as soon as those gates opened and you could hear the horn blow, I run out, and I was pumped. I got on my trusty skeletal horse. Now I was no noob to CTF (Halo games on Xbox) I thought, "I'll sneak around while they fight" I went up the path to the right and I went inside the hallway area and looked around. Nobody was home. So I ran further in and I could see the flag. Then all of a sudden, I was jumped by a pack of animals and I was completely cluesless on how or what is happening and I look up and see i think it was 4 hunters camping up on tbe 2nd floor of the base and they just opened fire and I died in a matter of seconds. I attempted this multiple times to get the flag while everyone was doing their own thing I was trying my best to touch the flag. I died many times even on my way there by 3 rouge gnomes that camped the graveyard.

It honestly comes as a blur to me nowadays, but if I recall correctly, my very first battleground was Warsong Gulch, on a Night Elf Blood Death Knight, named Serizawa, that I played on my Dad’s old account, was Warsong Gulch. I don’t remember if we won that time or not, but I do remember I was one of the biggest noobs ever, not even bothering with my talent tree (yeah, when I first made my old DK, talent trees were still a thing, and before dual-talent specialization were implemented), always trying (and almost always dying) in the middle, and when I picked up the flag, I mounted up, not knowing I’d actually drop the flag when I mounted...fun times were had.

Aww Nixxiom... anyone who has ever been BGs for the first time experienced some lack of instruction. Mine came after months of questing in Vanilla and I was so confident with my paladin skills (I know... just smile and nod) that I used to switch to PVP mode on the fly whenever it was suited for RP. I was on (and have returned after a five year absence) Moon Guard at the time and Horde were actually there to roleplay and raid settlements/cities/outposts. The Horde was way more organized and it was high time I get into a battleground to show them what a Paladin can do. I didn't know what to do. Do I heal? Let's heal. Dead. Do I tank for the flag carrier? Let's tank. Carrier dead, picked up the flag, bubbled, died. Alright, let's fight. Took on a rogue and a warlock. Feared, stunned, feared and stunned and then hunted down. I scored dead last in every category. The humble pie almost choked me.

I don't remember if it was my first, I don't think so. But certainly my coolest was this: It was in the days where you still had to manually group up. Now, I was always a bit of an excentric person, both in game and out. Add to that I was a n00b, so my gear on my druid was probably all kinds of weird. This is probably why the leader kept ignoring my pleas of "invite me please!" Long story short, I went out and got the enemy flag. On my way back, I got an invite to the group. I declined. That meant that I was the only one who got honor rewards for the capture. We ended up winning 3-1, 2 of the 3 where my captures. I think that might have been my most satisfying moment in the game. I definately showed those haters! I always make it a point to be nice to everyone in WoW. Until they are rude to me, then they find out how much of a dick I can be.

My first bg was wg as well. I was questing in Ashenvale on my NE hunter. I loved that zone back in the day; I thought it was gorgeous and, since I had played Warcraft 3, I knew it was supposed to be my home where all out sacred veils were. Anyway I was exploring and I came across what looked like an instance portal near the barrens. For those who don't know, back in vanilla the only instance near the night elf starting zone was black fathom depths, which I had ran about 500 times by this point because I enjoyed it so much (it was removed in cata rip), so I was like "Yeah! Another dungeon I can do with my friends!" I was like level 20 or something because I had stayed in the low level areas for a really long time, just having fun. I wasn't in a rush to level up or anything, I just enjoyed playing the game. So I walk up to this instance and look around; after talking to the battle master I queued up, cuz why not? When I got in, I had no clue what was going on. I don't remember details, but I know I died a lot and we lost lol. After that I remember showing one of my friends where it was and we queued up together and kept trying for a few hours. We weren't good, but it was fun. I was in like 6th grade or there abouts at the time. God I miss Vanilla...

But, when I made my Worgen rogue, who is now my main, and I did my VERY first bg on him, I had 17 killing blows and 3 deaths. I took a screen shot of it. After that, I decided to make him my main, I would tell you the hunter story, but it's a bit of a blur and.... WAY more embarrasing than this. You can take a guess as to what I did and caused and I will tell you if your right.

Love your videos and listening to your stories. I could have swore you told a similar story in regards to a hunter pet not taunting players 🤔🤔

First BG I ever did was WSG, back when it was first introduced around june or july 2005. You had to go to Silverwing Grove in Ashenvale at the time (as Alliance, in any case) and sit around with your thumb up your ass until you could actually enter the battle. I was somewhere in the level 30 to 35 range, if I recall correctly, but since I leveled my old Warrior on a PvP server, and the Honor system was only recently introduced at the time, I had experienced a couple of prior PvP battles... Or rather, Horde players mercilessly kicking my butt. I will never forget the gazillion times I got ganked by Undead Rogues while trying to level through STV; not to mention the groups of high level Horde players riding around on their mounts, hunting down and killing any lower level Alliance player they could find, Dishonorable Kills be damned. The waiting around in Silverwing Grove was pretty fun, as there was a lot of conversation and dueling going on usually, but when you finally got into the battleground itself, it was a glorious noobfest.

I absolutely remember my first one, in warsong gulch with my hunter, i managed to take the enemy flag run back into the base, yes, success, i caught the flag i thought, well the thing i did miss that horde flag was also take atm and when i didn't manage to turn the flag in for a capture, so i asked in the bg chat ''where do i put it?'' Needless to say the chat was quite beamused of me and then the penny droped, '' oh! our flag needs to be in base to capture enemy flag''
I dont remember it. I have never been a very good player but I remember one Warsong glutch when I captured two flags, and recovered like three or something. Believe me, the sensation of being the MVP of the team when you are an average player is unbelievable.

Warsong Gulch was always the most nostalgic BG. Nowadays all you hear are 12 year olds screaming about your mom being gay and you uninstalling WoW.

My first bg was Warsong and I got the flag but didn't know how to drop it, so I was just sitting there on the point for a good few minutes until a rogue came along and killed me.

First battleground was Warsong as an Undead prot warrior (yeah you heard me prot). No kills, no flag captures, solo defended the flag and got killed a lot by Night elf Druid and rogue combo. The actual embarrassing part, did it 5 times, no kills didnt get my first pvp kill till Basin

In my first BG, I was marked as a deserter before I even started loading in. Still don't know what the fuck even happened.

Being the noob level 10 dwarf hunter that I was I sent my friend war rations (junk from my bag) thinking it would help him in bgs.

The first bg I did was until I hit the max lvl which was 70 back on TBC, it was already 5 months since I begin playing so already got the main idea of the bg. It was a really meh expirience for me.

I was a total noob back then. I mean, really bad. I hit mobs with a bow. People always kicked me, guild mates were the only ones helping me. The first PvP kill i ever did was a Troll Shaman (or druid?) I was so happy and excited, i wrote it everywhere, guild chat, dungeon, group... everywhere "guess who just killed a troll" And you know what the worst thing was? *the troll was afk* No shit, he was afk. They didn't tell me, so that they don't ruin the fun i had. But then that dwarf came. But i didn't care, it still was a PvP kill.

The first time I went into Battlegrounds I didn't realize that I needed to repair my armor. So I'm a draenei hunter using my claws on an orc shaman. I felt insulted when he started laughing at me ... and tickling me... as I was trying to claw his eyes out. 😶😖😫😵☠
