Just a question, a few times here you mentioned the blon bl-30’s, but those look to be an open back design, did you mean the blon bl-60’s which are the closed back competitor to these? Just wanted to clarify. Thanks. Also helpful review.

Crap! Yes, the BL-60s are what I meant. The BL-30s were a hot mess 😂

Sivga should get points for having an easy to remember naming convention. Also love the color on the pads and headband. Like to see folks try different stuff in general. (edit) Oh, also like your mic here. Sounds great 👍

I completely agree. Sivga/Sendy are doing a lot of things right! Glad the mic sounds good

A fair and balanced review! Thank You! I am a big fan of the SIVGA Robin. Will definitely consider the Oriole. SIVGA makes quality products at affordable prices. Best Wishes from Canada! 🎧🎶

Must admit that I was recently impressed with Sendy Apollo. Very impressive warm headphone. Hope Sivga made another good one.
@PassionforSound2 жыл бұрын
Sivga and Sendy have made some great cans lately. I wasn't a huge fan of the Apollo (went a touch too warm for me), but they deserve more credit as a brand I think.

The best natural closed back is SAMSON Z55. Try, you will love the sound.

Sure. It's an Avantree Bamboo stand: amzn.to/3gWnu87

I like the materials they are using, for sure. My question is about the metal of the size adjustment - is it strong/stiff enough to be worn by a person with a large head? My Monolith M570 for example has a similar metal bar with the ratcheting adjustment - and they bend outward after a couple of weeks of daily use. I.E. they lose their shape, and the clamping spring is weakened, so they are looser on my head.
@PassionforSound2 жыл бұрын
That's a tough one to answer, Neil. The build quality definitely feels better than the Monoliths, but without simulating a larger head using them for a couple of weeks, I can't guarantee it for you.

Hello, thanks for video. Mi english very bad, please tell me, Sivga SV021 or Oriole for techno music , who have more bass, thanks.
@PassionforSound Жыл бұрын
I would choose the Oriole for every type of music (including techno). It's basically a better SV021.

Great review and comparison to the well loved Meze 99. Do these continue to be your recommend for closed-back headphone under $200 today? (now 8 months ago). Any better say $200-$300 since this review? Other than jumping up to Sundara Closed at $399.

I haven't yet heard something I prefer at the price so, yes - still my recommendation 🙂 Glad the review was helpful!

@PassionforSound Thanks for response, I'm still rocking the Verum One MK II. Are the oldie but goodie beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 80 ohms $169, and newer dt 700 pro X at $209 at the same level of sound quality and do they hold their own compared to the Oriole? Just different focus in frequency response? Side grades?
@PassionforSound Жыл бұрын
Yes, the DT 700 Pro X stacks up really well next to the Oriole. I wouldn't bother swapping them or adding the Oriole. Better to wait and upgrade to a higher level closed back, I think.

@@PassionforSound Just viewed your AIAIAI TMA-2 Move review, you picked the Move over the Beyer Dt 700 pro x and Meze 99 Neos. Oriole over Move? Sorry about the result of the Ladies 3rd place game in the World Cup, was rooting for the Kiwi's.

I think that sounds right - it's been a while since I reviewed them. If you're about to buy a closed back headphone though, I've got a ripper here that I'm reviewing right now so sit tight for a week or so if you can...

Nice timing, I was considering getting these. I'm sensitive to the 2-3k region so I'm a bit hesitant about the purchase. Do you think an R2R DAC like EF400 will pair nicely with Oriole? You are right about the wooly nature of the Bass on Meze, had mine (99 Classic) for 2 years before selling it off for an Edition XS. Would you recommend any other closed back with good Bass that will compliment the Edition XS?

Have you considered the Rode NTH-100? They are great and very affordable too. Not sure which others I'd recommend

@@PassionforSound Just watched the review. They seem like a really good casual use Headphone but not something I would pick for "fun" listening. I guess I'll have to look at some higher priced gear like Cascade, HE-R9... for that.
@PassionforSound2 жыл бұрын
I think the NTH-100, Oriole and Meze 99s are all comparable. If you're after a higher quality sound then going up a notch will pay dividends I think. I have a channel patron who loves the Cascades, but I believe they're VERY bassy. The HE-R9 are an interesting option too.

Absolutely on all counts! For the dog walking, the darker colour might be more subtle, but either way they're compact and sound great without costing a fortune like you say
