Congress is a national party like BJP they need to consider the elections in other states too but CPM is existing only in kerala and they are appeasing the muslim voters for the next election. They know the "secular" Hindus will vote for them no matter what they do and slowly the demography is changing too and they will demand religious laws in a secular nation soon. But CPM will convince their secular members that is the new secularism
