Late to comment but it is clear that the front slats were not deployed on the first attempt. Thank God for warning system that worked.( There have been at least two Mayday programmes about failure to set flaps for take-off. In one incident the pilots had pulled a circuit breaker that also worked the warning system for flaps.)

Flaps were up as seen earlier. They got a takeoff configuration warning horn so the rejected the takeoff. They deployed the flaps and their second try was successful.

I wouldn’t be too worried to fly after I saw this (Which I didn’t, not in person 😂) Because this could happen to any airline, they could have been new pilots, and at least they could smoothly reject it, so it’s just one of those mistakes. Well yes, pilots is very serious, but this is a very small incident. It could have been worse if they didn’t understand the warning.

It's only a matter of time before one of these airlines has a fatal crash, it's 2018, unacceptable to be forgetting flaps or checklists. Don't plan to ever fly with them

Great capture sivideo, and very concerning. Appears to be a flap configuration oversight by the tech crew quite evident when comparing the two line up sequences. Considering what would have been a relatively low workload for the long taxi out in benign wx this demonstrates a level of incompetence that should not be tolerated in commercial aviation in 2018. Shades of Kathmandu just last month with Malindo's 9M-LOO over-runnning the pavement after a late aborted takeoff following the same error going undetected. Systemic complacency on the flight deck at Malindo? Lucky technology intervened and the system worked to save disgraceful airmanship. This is what low cost carriers deliver unfortunately, and unrecognised by an uninformed market seeking lowest cost airfares. ATSB should be interested in such events.

" flap configuration oversight by the tech crew"....ummmmm, no. It is up to the flight crew to make sure that take-off configuration (slates, flaps etc) is inline with pre-flight check-lists. The fact they stopped quite quickly would be due to both an aural and oral alarm for takeoff miss-configuration.
