L86A2 LSW: full disassembly & assembly

The L86A1 LSW ("Light Support Weapon") is a magazine-fed squad automatic weapon originally intended to provide fire support at a fireteam level. Its barrel is longer than the L85A1 and has a shorter handguard with a support stock with lightening holes protruding from the front holding a bipod. The stock has a shoulder strap and rear vertical grip. The weapon is otherwise identical to the L85 version on which it is based, and the same 30-round magazines and sighting systems are used. Like the L85 rifle, it has a selector on the left side behind the magazine housing, enabling either single shots or automatic fire. The bolt and trigger system are modified, so the gun can be fired from open bolt.
The increased barrel length, bipod and the optical performance of the SUSAT give the weapon excellent accuracy, increased muzzle velocity and further stabilizes the bullet, giving a greater effective range. From its inception, the L86 was a target of criticism on much the same basis as the L85. The LSW has the additional issue (shared by any light support weapon derived from a rifle, for example the heavy-barrel FN FAL) of its inability to deliver sustained automatic fire as it lacks a quick-change barrel, and belt feed.

0:12 wait the spring is as long as the mag? I’ve disassembled a 7.62 ak once its mag spring is as long as a rpk-74 mag (which mean it is longer than the ak’s mag) but this once is just as long as the mag only?

I went to desert storm with this thing it would fire 3 rounds and stuck 3 rounds and jamed and it was the sections fire support rifles any ways up the kosb xxv

This was my weapon system in the paras we always tried to have two gpmgs per section I had this piece of shhhhhiiiit I had two carry 12x30round mags two bandolier and a box off 500 rounds in my day sack 50 for the 50 cal and 200 rounds of 7.62 link for the gmpg the only luck thing is I didn't have to carry a law which everyone without a gpmg or lsw did oh n all carried mortars for the mortar team everyone at least 1grenade the rifles had rggs rifle grenade General service which I don't ever think ppl have ever used u stick them on the end of your rifle flip open the site and fire but u can fit a rifle grenade on this cause the bipod water and ammo

Looking at how close this thing is to an AR-18 im just asking WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST ADOPT THE AR!? just modernize it (make it from better quality materials, rails, ambidextrous controls etc), make it use STANAG mags and you are done. Why turn a simple easy produce design into sth THIS complicated?
