Schools in the south start and end earlier than those in the north, so it was common for parks in the south to scale back operations in August. On the flip side, they used to start daily operations earlier. Oddly, Great Escape's education days are not open to the public, but SFNE's are. Even if the park is open to the public, those are days to avoid, because the parks are mobbed with school groups.

For the Education Days at Great Escape: They are open to the public those days and you can use your season pass to enter the park. You're right that Great Escape has always had a shorter season. They usually start the weekend before Memorial Day, and go daily by late June. Any weekdays before then are mostly for school groups, where the park opens earlier and closes earlier. As far as the closing times, they are simply restoring the hours they had prior to the covid/staffing cuts. It's 11-7 Monday-Thursday, 11-8 Fridays and Sundays, and 11-9 on Saturdays. @@AirtimeThrills It's not just Six Flags: I've been looking at the schedules of smaller local parks. Staffing is generally tough. Canobie Lake Park hasn't run at their pre-pandemic summer schedule since 2020; this year, they're managing a seven-day schedule for four weeks in July and August, and they're closed Tuesdays most of the rest of the summer, which I guess is pretty good all things considered. Compounce is doing a different strategy, seven days mid-June through mid-August but has more closed days outside of that.

Here we go again hate playing this game! How am I supposed to have a Six Flags day then? Thought cedar fair was babysitting them from here out? How bad are the weekday hours?? So adding a new ride to the parks every year backfired with their operation issues.

People overreacted about the merger... It's going to take some time for the feds to negotiate. Like... Disney-FOX took two years.

Maybe you should talk about how cedar fair parks are doing the same thing in similar region's. Missouri for example Worlds of Fun stops weekday operations the same day as Sfsl. And they opened two months later the sfsl. But of course you thoosies will only ever critique six flags and try to make them look bad and cf cant do anything wrong

Yeah... can't wait to get a refund from a 3rd (or 4th) class action lawsuit against Six Flags! this ruined my June coaster trip.

premium schedule

This is a direct result of the current economic climate. Many people who would normally make amusement park trips just don't feel like they have the disposable income right now to do so. Amusement parks are anticipating this and adjusting schedules accordingly.

I wonder if the other chains are feeling the same pinch. I know inflation has punched everyone in the paycheck but it doesn't seem to always deter consumer spending, as long as those credit cards aren't maxed out

OG’s schedule is normal cuz they go back to school so early

@@edt-ze3ke sure, if 6F only ever wants to be a regional-only park. It's a horrible schedule for a company pushing for out-of-state travelers & vacationers

I think it's more of an issue with staffing. A majority of their staff is probably in school (high school or college) locally

Why is sunday on the beginning of your week????!!! It is weekend because the 2 days are on the end.... a week starts monday bro😂

Six Flags is not gonna survive much longer as a company. The merger might end up becoming a huge failure, and Six Flags may go out of business.

This is complete BS! Travelling to California & Nevada the last 2 weeks of August and was planning on visiting Magic Mountain on a wedsnesday or thursday for the low crowds...and they're closed??? This is supposed to be the self proclaimed roller coaster capital of the world, in the 2nd biggest city of the US? What a BS move!

The days of 365 operations are gone
@bjornvandenbremt17176 ай бұрын
@@AirtimeThrills I'm not expecting the parks to be open 365 days; but a major park in a major metropolitan area that closes during weekdays in August? What's that about, the good old Covid-19 days? Also, when I return I have a layover of a full day in Montréal and La Ronde is also closed...,on a friday in August! If you ask me, that's just bad management from six Flags in general. Happy they didn't last in Europe!

They need to be close two days a week , especially on Sunday anyway, it's God day, (Exodus 20 verse 8 & 10 ). No one is supposed to do know work anyway says the Lord thy God. Take heed to these warning signs people, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunami chaos, wildfires, floods, etc; even our economy, too much greed. Biblical Prophecy is at work. Repent, & stop forgetting the Lord thy God for Jesus is coming back soon.
