Six flags Dubai is probably going to end up like Universal Studios and that was cancelled only months in. (They had it planned in Dubai I think)

Dubailand was legitimate and Universal took it seriously...we had planning offices for Dubai setup in UOR backlot for a while. It really was the collapse of the global economy in 2008/2009 that ultimately killed the project when Dubai didn't pay up (then NBC-Universal owner General Electric was ready and never backed down, but the Dubai investors weren't). As for Busch/SeaWorld/Aquatica Palm Islands, it was equally as much the impending sale of the parks from Anheuser-Busch to Blackstone as it was the economy that killed it; there was more value without the licensing deal.
