I feel like KI wasn’t chosen because of how uneven the terrain is where Vortex was specifically. If they chose another area they would most likely have to remove something or invest much more in infrastructure to make it accessible. That’s gotta be the only reason it just makes so much more sense there to me.
@edt-ze3keАй бұрын
SFOG could definitely use a tilt coaster in their lineup as a response to AireForce at Fun Spot. This would also be a perfect fit for the park’s 60th anniversary that’s coming up very soon by placing it where the Go Kart area is located
@dominicjannazo7144Ай бұрын
Good point that this coaster, which already had permit problems, went to a park (CP) that can basically do whatever it wants in terms of construction. It's not the only business in Sandusky, but CP sure has more sway and history there than a park in a major metro area would.
@MrSRArterАй бұрын
Worlds of Fun is another park that would've been good for Siren's Curse, while it got a new coaster in 2023 (Zambezi Zinger), that's a family coaster. As for legacy Six Flags parks, there's also Six Flags New England.
@simplestu9449Ай бұрын
Something to note about KI and Carowinds is that they seem to be following the same pattern as CW and thus they might already be preparing for a new coaster in the future, which is a possible reason as to why they were skipped when deciding where to send the tilt coaster.
@MrSRArterАй бұрын
7:50 I could see Richard Zimmerman wanting to do this, but he'd have to watch out for Energylandia which could overtake all North American parks in coaster count even though he actually did take the coaster that this video is about directly from Energylandia (almost directly since it was in Six Flags Mexico first).
@edt-ze3keАй бұрын
I think Richard might be open to buy out other scrapped projects since Siren's Cursed is a cancelled project because both Energylandia and now SFMX originally had plans to construct it before then falling through and moved to CP

Im beyond excited this coaster is coming to my home park go cedar point
@billc8729Ай бұрын
Most of the parks you listed had major new coasters more recently than cedar point. Steel vengeance was their last major coaster. The chain obviously views TT2 as a refurb/repair of dragster. Knotts is the one that had a new coaster the same year as cedar point. They also likely wanted it to go to one of their big parks. And most of them are getting stuff in 2025 already and kings island and Carowinds likely already have a major ride coming in 2026 which is why they didn’t get it.
@XscreamThrillsАй бұрын
I see your point, SV is their last major coaster, but TT2 feels like a brand new coaster, similar to SV with Mean Streak

With a Six Flags park being my home park i was so excited for this merger hoping the quality of Cedar Fair parks was coming to Six Flags. It's a little concerning one of the first big moves after this merger is a real Six Flags one at Cedar Point. Cedar Point would always start construction early and have coasters ready for opening day. Six Flags buys coasters cheap, announces them last minute for a "Summer" opening, usually delaying them from there. Great Adventure is my home park and for our 50th Anniversary we were promised a renovated Big Wheel, renovated Log Flume (both of which needed it anyway) that didn't open until late summer and a crap capacity Super Boomerang opening in our 51st year of operation. I have hope this will be a one off post merger move but this is a very "Six Flags" start to the merger.
@XscreamThrillsАй бұрын
I agree but I think this is more of a one off. Looking over the situation, I don't believe Cedar Point was planning on building this coaster until mid-summer/late summer.
@edt-ze3keАй бұрын
Keep in mind that the Intamin Ultra Surf is a "'crap" capacity coaster as well. However, it made sense for an average mid-tier park since SFOG is considered one for the legacy SF parks.
@markvolpe2305Ай бұрын
It makes me wonder, if they're not putting any theming into this coaster, could this be temporary? Could this coaster stay there for a few seasons and then ship it off to another park that could really use this ride?
@XscreamThrillsАй бұрын
That would be unusual for Cedar Point, but theres a possibility. I always thought that would be the case for Tempesto at BGW, but somehow that coaster is still there
@ThousanWhiteАй бұрын
As I mentioned before, I don't think any of the other Six Flags parks had the budget and infrastructure to get this thing in to meet the terms that Vekoma had for them to be honest. Sure, it'd be great if parks like St Louis, Valleyfair, Michigans Adventure or Darien Lake got something like this but I just couldn't see it. Kings Island is the only park that probably had the money, space, and resources to get this?
@thr0w407Ай бұрын
Michigans Adventure called, it wanted the curse. LOL
@Cap-ku6okАй бұрын
Kings Island was not an option because I believe they have a coaster already under development for 2026, that might also be the case for Carowinds and/or Knotts.
@billc8729Ай бұрын
Yeah this is highly likely for kings island and Carowinds and exactly why I think they weren’t picked. Not sure on knotts since their land situation is hard to work around.

cedar point didn't become one of the biggest coasters in the world by letting other parks have its new rides
@XscreamThrillsАй бұрын
Gotta have them all!
@mitchellries256Ай бұрын
La Ronde would be my first choice for this coaster, with Six Flags America being my second choice. Michigan's Adventure, Valleyfair, and Six Flags Darien Lake would be good locations, but I think Michigan's Adventure should really get the SBNO B&M hyper from the abandoned Hot Go Dreamworld in China while Valleyfair would benefit from the SBNO B&M wing coaster from the same park. There's also an SBNO B&M flying coaster called Harpy at Xishuangbanna in China. That would be perfect for Six Flags Darien Lake.

With the disastrous 2024 season, it’s obvious why this was going to Cedar Point. I’m just curious now how long till coaster #19 comes along….
@billc8729Ай бұрын
Certainly not disastrous from a financial perspective. The park has had its busiest season ever. Probably didn’t sell as much TT2 merchandise as they expected though

A lot of butt hurt people. Just drive to Cedar Point. Everyone is Six flags now, there is no us vs them. Just save an extra 50 and drive here gesh

Um....Actually absolutely yes... if you live in the lower north east part of the country or the north eastern Midwest the. Cedar point will be about a 7hr drive TOPS.... IF THAT'S TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO DRIVE FOR A GREAT COASTERS THEN YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY NOT A COASTER ENTHUSIAST, AND BEFORE YOU START ARGUING, THE FACTS IS THAT FROM WHERE I LIVE IN SUBURBAN CLEVELAND, 40 MINS EAST OF CEDAR POINT.... I CAN LITERALLY BE AT HERSHEY PARK, SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE, NICKELODEON UNIVERSE, DOLLYWOOD, BUSCH GARDENS WILLIAMSBURG, KINGS DOMINION, KINGS ISLAND, KENNYWOOD, SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA, OR HOLIDAY WORLD ALL IN 7hrs and UNDER💯💯💯 Honestly I definitely think most people don't realize that!
@huddyr1112Ай бұрын
@@Themeparkfan630 I'm from New York City & live in Suburban Cleveland, 40 MINS east of CP... and it's just a media-driven misunderstanding that stems from an outdated fact... Northeast Ohio is nowhere near the Midwest!!! these locations were determined before there was even 40 States let alone 50 something😂💯 The West Coast was around Missouri when the term "Midwest" was invented all you have to do is open your eyes look at a map!!! look at Cleveland Ohio and see how you can drive to New York state in 2 hours & Pennsylvania in under 90 mins🤣🤣 It's the beginning of the Northeast and simply just the NORTH. It sits across from Canada with Buffalo 2 hrs or so to the east! If you think that's the middle of the western part of this country, then you are either blind or just have severe problems

@billc8729Ай бұрын
All that parks that are being 100% kept by the chain already having rides coming in 2025 or 2026. The ones that don’t are on the chopping block so they aren’t getting a new coaster
@slimbeige8692Ай бұрын
KI was not picked b/c CF doesn't want KI to upstage CP in any way. It's flagship park. The same reason they sabotaged Orion. Not one stat exceeds Millennium Force. An almost 20yr old giga. Not that KI needed it, but it would make more since they don't already have a drop coaster. It's pretty lame to put it at CP, let alone right next to Valravn...
