The Canzonett Sull'aria recording was featured in the film "The Shawshank Redemption" when one of the main characters locked himself in the prison Governor's office and played it over the public address system to the prisoners in the exercise yard below.
Unfortunately the CD I have with the Mario Lanza recording on it doesn't give a date and the fact that it has applause suggests that it is a live performance. However, I'm now certain that it is the 1949 studio recording with dubbed applause.
