One thing you may have forgotten is the $12.00 mod they you attach to the rear de re overs side ‘seat back’ allowing for a shoebox leash to grab, which brings the back of the rear seat forward very easily. It’s amazing how much one can store back there!

Amazing video. Another suggestion that is often overlooked; getting seat covers for all the seats (front and back). Decent sets for them can be had for $25 to $30, to preserve wear/tear, and prevent staining of cloth seats. Also, several models of F150s don't come with locking gas latches. This is remedied for only $11 with an amazon locking gas cap plus keys.
@lostgrunt78333 ай бұрын
I don't think they've had a gas cap in at least 13 years. I'm pretty sure that from 2011 & up ( possibly even before then. ) they have the capless fuel hose. My 2012 & 17 mustang both don't have a gas cap.

Tailgate electric lock works when you lock or unlock the doors. A quick release for the rear seats, and Rear Wheel Well Guards in the wheel wells to keep mud and debris out of the wheel well. Also, glue on anti-scratch pads for the rocker panel inside the doors protects the painted area when you enter or exit the truck. I also did a DIY for the remote start, bought an OEM antenna from Amazon, installed it behind the glove box, (wire is already there from the factory) took the truck to a dealer, bought a remote start key, had the dealer configure the computer to the remote start key, and away I go. That ran about $200-$250.
@matthewpeterson3329 Жыл бұрын
The tailgate strut and hammer locks are very cool. You would think for $75k, Ford could nut up and include a damped tailgate. As for the fog lights, if you really want them to work best in fog, get the lower temp version. Amber light doesn't penetrate better, but the human eye sees that color temperature better. It's why off road race cars have them on the rear, as they can be seen from a greater distance (in the dust) than standard tail lights. The same concept works when looking forward through fog or dust. Great video!

You should talk about improving the AC condensate drain. It’s behind the front passenger wheel. Stock one is horizontal (on my 2019) and can leak back into the passenger compartment, ruining your carpet. Glue a 3/4” elbow on it and it’s fixed. It’s a common problem and as of 2 years ago hasn’t been fixed by ford.
@Buletspunge5555 ай бұрын
Can you elaborate or point to a video that discusses further? I just picked up a used 2018 and noticed how wet the floor board was under the carpet when searching for the keyless door code. It surprised me, to be honest. After noticing how heavy the AC was dripping in the heat recently, I wonder if mine is backing up there.
@Mrblueridgeman5 ай бұрын
@@Buletspunge555 The condensate drain goes straight through the firewall on the passenger side and drains behind the right front tire. The problem is, it’s just a straight tube. You remedy the problem by gluing a 3/4” elbow to it, pointed down. No more back flow. You have together behind the fender liner to access this. Not hard cuz the liner is flexible and can be bent out of the way.

Console cover and lights arrived today. The cover will be returned. It curls due to the fold from packaging and doesn't reach the back of the console unless I'm stretching and holding. I also like the cargo netting on the rear seat. Can’t use it as I have the “dog sling” which keeps my little Shar Pei girl safe! URPOWER Dog Car Seat Cover for Back Seat, Waterproof Dog Car Hammock Dog Seat Cover with Mesh Window and Side Flap Pets Car Seat Protector Dog Backseat Cover for Car and SUV. Another inexpensive add-on I would recommend is: Chelhead Led Pod Lights, 2Pcs 2.8 Inch 20W Flood Off Road Backup Driving Lights Fog Lamp Rear Bumpers Signal Reverse Light Bars Compatible with Trucks Jeep Motorcycle ATV UTV SUV Tacoma. They are a godsend for placing the truck in R at night. I mounted mine under the bumper and wired into the Reverse wire! I have a cab high shell and the rear tailgate backup camera with the additional lighting really helps. Here is a bonus: I don’t like wiring clutter for rear view mirrors, so I installed an adapter from (Amazon) Dongar Dashcam Power Adapter! Works with virtually ALL powered auto dimming rear view mirrors! No more worries about A-Pillar air bags! Enjoyed your video, thanks!

At least adjust the aim of the headlights if your going to put LED or HID bulbs in, so you dont blind everyone. I retrofitted projectors out of a junkyard infiniti when I got LEDs and it has a clean cut off and doesn't blind other drivers. The short antenna is great on the trails, and will save your winsheild, I had a factory antenna until a bird hit it and smashed the tip into my windsheild when i was on the I-5 doing 70.
@saltytrips Жыл бұрын
… fog lights have an on and off button as shown in the video, use discretion as needed, they don’t blind people they have less lumen’s than head lights and they are angled slightly down. Been using them for 5 years in the F150 and not a single vehicle of the hundreds of thousands I’ve passed has ever flashed there lights at me or gone careening out of control off the road. Beside Fords lariat and platinum come standard LED fog lights that are brighter than these aftermarket ones, I doubt Ford would take on that liability if they where blinding people left and right causing accidents. Sorry to hear about the windshield, never had that happen, I just always hated to looks of the large one. They did worry me running them through the car wash. I thought it might come back and hit the windshield.

The only thing I can say about your short antenna is now you have lost your safety alert that your clearance maybe too low. Those antennas are only on there to let you know once they are hit, that your clearance might be too low.

….😂🤣 if you can’t stop you your cab top from running into things without an antenna “early warning system” you have way bigger problems 🤦♂️

If you get the tail gate assist from ford it installs on right side of tg and is totally hidden.

Great videos! Just subscribed! I have the exact same truck. Except mines a 6.2 and a 2017, but looks just like mine. I already have a few things to add but haven’t had the weather or the time yet. I have a bed cover but waiting to have the bed liner sprayed in.

…welcome aboard! 👊💥 should have a tonneau cover and bed video coming out soon.

@@saltytrips I had the Bak-flip on my long bed. But with this one I went with the same company but went with the “Revolver” hard rolling type. I liked the Bak-flip but didn’t like how it blocked the window when flipped all the way.
@saltytrips Жыл бұрын
@@matthartlage889 … I stayed away from the rolling tonneau cover because it rolls into the bed and takes up space, which would get in the way of stowing fishing rods. That’s really important for us. I really like the idea of the rolling ones but just can’t sacrifice the bed space.
@matthartlage889 Жыл бұрын
@@saltytrips you don’t lose bed space. Instead of flipping and stacking on top above the bed rails the “revolver” rolls up on top of the bed rails. Look it up and you’ll see what I mean. “Revolver 4 S”.

@@matthartlage889 didn’t even know that one existed, how secure is it? I like the security of the Bak Flip, how comparable is it in that aspect.
