Hi Folks, Dan seemed to say the Holy Spirit is the Father (God). In your Unitarian belief is the Holy Spirit the Father or the spirit of the Father? The "of" denotes possession of. Jesus promised to send another comforter the Holy Spirit which would be in us forever and by which He and His Father would make their abode in us. He said the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and would be sent by Him (Jesus) into the believers heart. This is my understanding. God is spirit. We are given a portion of the spirit of God and as Peter said we have become partakers in the divine nature (Hebrews says "partakers of the Holy Spirit"). The Holy Spirit is not a third co-equal God person, but the spirit of God by which God's presence is supernaturally with us and through which God works in us changing us into the image of His Son. I am interested in others thoughts.

I have a genuine question for point 6 as I’m learning. Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." How does this mesh with romans. Thank you for your videos
@maxspringer013 жыл бұрын
@Lou Ferguson - I would say this meshes when we see what Jesus says in John 10. John 10:18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” I can think of at least 15 verses that say explicitly that God raised Christ from the dead. When Jesus speaks of Himself doing it, we know from John 10:18 that it is only because God granted Him the authority to do so. God is still the one raising Jesus from the dead. Jesus does not have the authority/power to do so in Himself without God commanding/empowering it. In case you want to look them up, the 15 verses that tell us directly that God raised Christ from the dead are: Acts 2:23-24 Acts 2:32 Acts 3:15 Acts 4:10 Acts 5:30 Acts 10:39-40 Acts 13:29-30 Acts 13:36-37 Romans 6:4 Romans 8:11 Romans 10:9 1 Corinthians 6:14 1 Corinthians 15:15 Galatians 1:1 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10

The Bible didn't say Stephen was full of God. He was full of the Holy Ghost. We must not put in the Bible what is not there. You are using this point to validate that Jesus wasn't God because Stephen was full of the Holy Ghost.

Yes - Just as the Bible said Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1) - so was Stephen.

Why did Jesus say before Abraham was “I am”? That is the thing that led me to believe he was god
