Here's some actual problems with nz: 1st The cost of living. Rent and groceries is super expensive. 2nd In the bigger cities it can be really hard finding a job because your competing with everyone and there dogs. 3rd Geographic location.. Kind of a double edge sword good in someways (in the case of a nuclear winter) but bad in other ways ( the only country where close to is Aussie.) 4th The quality of meat and dairy at the supermarket is bad for the price. This is because the farmers sell all the good meat and dairy overseas for profit. 5th Public transport is lacking compared to EU & Asia countries. 6th Weather is a bit unpredictable at times. Sunny at first than 1 minute later full on hail storm with mach 10 wind.

Lived there for a year. Be hard to come up with 6 for real its a top place to live in the world my opinion but heres my attempt lol. 1) Low pay in comparison to other western countries. 2) The feeling of isolation. Its a pretty lowkey place so theres nothing really crazy going on in terms of news. 3) Contacting family can be difficult depending where you're from as the time change is so drastic. 4) Expensive place to live. Accompanied by low wages will definitely knock down your standard of living coming from another first world country. 5) As someone who likes sports and coming from North America I couldn't really watch anything I like on tv and Kiwis have different preference on sports 100%. 6) Weak currency. If you ever plan on leaving NZ for travel your trip will just cost you that much more because your money doesn't go very far off the island. All in all still love NZ with all my heartnand would recommend to anyone just like anything do your research. Experience will vary depending where you come from !

I agree with all you said. I couldn't live there because it's just too far away from anywhere else! We know we would feel too isolated but it IS a beautiful place. I visited in 90s and I felt as if I had stepped back in a time machine into the 1950s. Everyone went home at 5pm and no night life. Lots of lunch places but there was nothing to do back then. And I must mention that everyone cussed a lot even in business meetings or dinners (lots of the f--- word in everyday conversations). Maybe it's changed but it was a great trip for a twenty year old!
@jared2232 Жыл бұрын
@@moirapettifr7127 I visited / lived in 2015/2016 and I also felt like I went backwards in time. It definitely caters to a certain type of person. If you're extremely outdoorsy and not overly materialistic it's definitely somewhere you could flourish. I'd recommend it to someone who's wealthy or highly educated with the ability to make a lot of money because it really is that expensive. It would also be good for a retiree with a good bit of money put away. Obviously this is going to depend on profession but I honestly got paid exactly half of what I would earn here in Canada. You can imagine the toll that took on my lifestyle. People who are born here are blessed because it's such an amazing place and if you don't know any better than I'm sure the wages and everything would be fine.

the old reverse psychology eh? Here's 6 reasons to move to NZ! 1 - High prices at supermarkets, means the products are of higher quality. 2 - Easy to avoid crime, when gang members wear patches on the back of there Jackets. 3 - Media reporting is so consistent, the same story on the same issue, is covered with exactly the same angle on every form of media! 4 - Heaps of vacant retail space in NZ Cities, so there's plenty of locations to open a business. 5- To help Maori language use in the community, everyone now peppers there English with a Government Sesame St, Te Reo dialect. 6- The Hydro Electricity from dams built by public funds is of such a high quality that private companies out do each other to sell it at the highest price!

Crime in this country is always drastically understated. Last year 3 people got stabbed in my street, a man attacked people with an axe in a town 10 minutes down the road. In the same town a person was shot and killed in a bus station. There was a mass shooting in a construction site in Auckland city killing 2 people and wounding 7 others, and in the same day there was 21 separate shootings in the same city. And of course you can't forget the mosque shooting. Last year there were a stupid amount of ram raids commited, and the sentencing in dumb. Last month a man pulled out a samurai sword and half decapitated a man on the street because of road rage, and he got fucking home detention.

Ha ha !!! I use to live in NZ and you are so right , all the things you just said are so true . I loved it so much and the people are so lovely, kindness , humour and the culture. Yes people work hard , but do also know how to enjoy their chill time doing all sorts of wonderful lovely things. Yes very low crime rate compared to other places . I was there in the 1980s -1990s. Just under 10 years . I only returned to the UK because I missed my family since we did not have Skype and Zoom in those days. The weather was great , also yes jaw dropping scenery . I sometimes just stood almost in shock with it's beauty. Especially in the southern hemisphere the light is also very different. Much brighter so colours are very vibrant when the sunshine is out. Technicolor . Also the sense of humour is wonderful. Yes I use to be belly laughing daily both at work and at home , with my kiwi boyfriend and regular kiwi friends , they have got a great sense of humour. There was a good theatre comedy show called Theatresports that I use to go too. Just off Queen street in Auckland somewhere near the library. It was interactive with the audience and I sometimes thought I would pas out laughing since they would be so funny you could almost not breath. I miss that. You are in a wonderful, magical beautiful place and I miss it very much. I did not know it was the least corrupt place in the world , but I could believe it . Especially with how decent and honest and genuinely kind I found the kiwis to be. It's wonderful that the Maori culture is so rich there , also with their beautiful buildings and amazing artwork. I loved how everything had a meaning . You are right Curls all of what you say , I found to be true to . Thank you for your wonderful videos I really enjoy them . I can clearly see how the Kiwis would love you. You definitely have the Kiwi spirit . 😊

They have the fearsome reputation in sport with the Haka etc.and many famous people like pop star Lorde, supergroup Six60 and LOTR and former PM Jacinda. As much as there are many positives there are just as many negatives too like anywhere else. I also left because as friendly as people are there there is much bullying and negativity too. It is a beautiful place. There are a lot of kind loving people there too. All I’m saying is to not wear rose colour glasses. As great a country it is, it’s not perfect. Bullying in schools and some work places over there is rife. If want laid back go South Island cause the further south you go the friendlier people are.
