Have any questions about the aircraft or interested in buying one? Contact myplane@mojogrip.net
On this channel, I’ve showcased several different airplanes from 2 seaters and 4 seaters to ultralights. Sometimes though you have pilots who need that extra payload to carry more people. Thats why today we are looking at 5 six seater airplanes that you can buy used in today’s market for less that $100,000.
Keep in mind that most of the aircrafts listed are twins engine aircrafts with retractable landing gears. That makes them complex and more expensive to own. So although you have a low entry purchase price, the maintenance cost for these aircrafts will be on the high side.
Here are the 5 aircrafts listed in the video.
Cessna 310R - Easily one of the better looking twin engine airplanes still flying today. The Cessna 310R is a later model of the 310s that were introduced in 1975. They have better performance compared to the earlier models of the Cessna 310s. This aircraft is quite old but still very capable. And you can find a good used one today for less than 100k
USEFUL LOAD: 2,154 pounds
SPEED: 205 miles per hour
RANGE: 999 miles
PRICE: $99,000

and / listingvideos2011
Beechcraft B55 Baron: The Baron 55 is another early model twin manufactured in the united states by Beechcraft. Gives you competitive performance on speed and has quite the useful load to haul 4-5 passengers and fly long distance.
USEFUL LOAD: 2,025 pounds
SPEED: 207 miles per hour
RANGE: 1,085 miles
PRICE: $90,000
VIDEO SOURCE: / baronbob819u
Piper Aztec - Also known as the Piper PA-23. one of my favorite airplane on the list. Has enough useful load to carry more passengers. It does travel a bit slower than the rest at 172 miles per hour cruise speed. But the best part about this airplane’s performance is the range. You can fly it north of 1500 miles with full fuel tanks.
USEFUL LOAD: 2,025 pounds
SPEED: 172 miles per hour
RANGE: 1,519 miles
PRICE: $75,000
VIDEO SOURCE: / listingvideos2011
Piper Seneca II - Also known as the Piper PA-34. Here is another superb twin engine aircraft from piper that can haul 6 people and travel long distance. There are several iteration to this airplane but anyone you choose will serve you just as nice.
USEFUL LOAD: 1,643 pounds
SPEED: 216 miles per hour
RANGE: 1,000 miles
PRICE: $60,000
VIDEO SOURCE: / @flightlineaviationgroup
Piper Cherokee 6 - Also known as the Piper PA-32. One of the most affordable six seater airplanes in the market. This is also the only single engine aircraft on the list. Having only one engine means you are slower at 168 miles per hour cruise speed. But it also means you get to save some money on the maintenance cost since you don’t have to deal with he complexity of having 2 engines and retractable landing gears.
USEFUL LOAD: 1,735 pounds
SPEED: 168 miles per hour
RANGE: 840 miles
PRICE: $60,000

Hallo Bob, absolutely I agree, most people do not understand - that *Time is money, Dekades back - I had had a Beech-360 for business not for toy, So the time works for me, in time of amortisation of costs. As I sold my Company - also gave away, to the right time- as PT6 coming up I guess piston engines consumption is too expensive actually. thank's for Attention, regards from Germany

Biggest mistake my grandpa made was to sell his propeller maintenance and restoration business and his airplanes to please my grandma. His health deteriorated quickly after it and he died just a couple years after it, he died unhappy and unfulfilled. Years later she is still around and will be for longer. Die happy, die active, fuck what she says... keep flying my friend.

So glad to see the Cherokee 6 on here. My father owned on (3217W) in the 1960's. He said of it "That plane just wanted to be in the air". He and some of his buddies would fly to North Carolina from Massachusetts for a few days of golf in the spring. One of the other guys owned a Cessna Super Skymaster. My dad would take one of the guys and all the luggage. He always got their first because the Super Skymaster didn't have the range of the 6.

I have a Cessna 337G with completely redone IFR glass panel, and would not trade that plane for anything. The breadbox cabin design gives the best shoulder and head space and leg room is phenomenal. I have removed the most aft 2 (jumper) seats and made that space cargo friendly, so technically it became a 4-seater, though.

Two big things missing from this video - avionics and engine time. A modern glass IFR-certified cockpit swings the price $30K compared to a busted, barely legal, VFR steam panel. Also, engines get overhauled about once every 2000hrs, and that can cost $20K per engine. So depending on how much time those twins have on them, that's another $40K swing. Paint is another $10K. The airframe is only about a third of the cost.

Great video, thank you. Can you do one on 6-seater or larger amphibious seaplanes? The Albatross looks great to me, but maybe there are more affordable seaplanes that also have very long range. I would love to hear about that. Flying from Lake Ontario to the Caribbean by seaplane would be very, very cool. (Fascist escape route.) The plane could also be loaned out as needed to local communities for search and rescue missions, disaster relief or emergency evacuations. The Albatross in particular just looks like a very cool, versatile machine.

Like, almost double. I'd stay away from the twins unless you've got plenty of money to burn. And even if you do - get a nicer/newer/faster single-engine. Possibly get a turboprop like the PC-12, but that's well into the 7-digit range
@MarcPagan

Good stuff amigo...one comment, avoid the Aztec Turbo Unless one lives in the mountains, .....jumping from 30 to 38 GPH plus the extra maintenance, are not justified. Great useful load though...and fun flying an unpressurized aircraft at FL180 ...with supplemental oxygen of course :)

I’m surprised you didn’t include aircraft like the Cessna 206 or the Cessna 210 more that piper Saratoga, although that is pretty much a Cherokee six. Even some bonanzas can be found under $100,000 and sit six people. A Cessna 205, 206, or to 10, can be easily found under $100,000.

Many light twins are available for little-to-nothing because their cost of operation is insane. They have massive fuel consumption, and double the engine rebuild cost. Basically, if you can afford the fuel and the maintenance of a twin, you probably don't have to limit yourself to only 100k anyways.

Good assortment and choices. I'm glad you pointed out operating costs above and beyond fuel. that's the nut right there. be very thorough (& honest) in determining your operational needs prior to selecting an aircraft. In addition, you may want to consider the type of flying you want to (can) do. 1000 mile range sounds nice yet realize that's 5+ hours in a plane with your PAX. fly safe and fly well.

The added extra cost in license upgrade to multi-engine rating. As it can be an extra $20k-25k Dollars. That is an extra $10k+ from a single engine....If you ace it the first time out..
