The Wheel of Fate was a real winner this year. All good makes. I really like all of them, maybe because of the viscose and because they have such good drape. I would agree with you though, in terms of wearability the Aisling blouse is a lovely fit, and the final flowery one, is a blast, love that too. Any Wheel of fate you make will be great and great fun too. Thanks for continuing it into next year 🎉

Thanks Trish, the wheel even though I mixed it up with the patterns this time really did work out well didn't it! I much prefer viscose for drape, cotton blouses and tops just don't feel comfortable to me even though the prints are so tempting sometimes. Aww thanks for saying I looked nice in the butterfly top because when I watched back the video I actually wasn't sure, even though I loved it last year!! I LOVE your dice game as well, I think it is the element of fun we put into the videos and of course the suspense! Sometimes sewing videos can be too serious 😂. Thank goodness you're doing it again. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 My favourite is the very gorgeous dress. The fabric is lovely and you look fantastic in it. Re the wheel perhaps you could still put some element of pattern surprise into it by sorting some patterns you like into fabric groups and then depending on the pattern in the spin you could 'lucky dip' for an appropriate pattern in the that fabric group So we, and you, get two surprises!!

Now I really like that idea of sorting the patterns into groups, thank you! I was so happy with that Dress and it is funny as I almost gave that fabric away at one point. I was just being selfish really. I really loved the double spin. The surprise pattern for the chosen fabric adds a great element because it makes one realise that fabric can surprise us when made up into something we wouldn't normally choose. It's something I struggle with.

It's been a great series Carole. I think you could launch a sewing challenge for others with this idea. I think anyone who has a reasonable stash of fabrics ( I don't btw) could challenge themselves in a similar way. I'm so glad you had successes and it's great when a pattern and fabric work together.

I love seeing your ‘unsafe’ pattern makes. I’d love to see some of the patterns you have previously dismissed then seen on someone else (or vlog) which changed your mind. I was commenting on a vlog by another KZbin sewist that the the image you see is so important and if you don’t gel with the image on the pattern sleeve then you can easily miss your next favourite make. I guess your secret magic dress is a good example, it looks ok on the imagery but not an OMG THATS AMAZING! dress… yet there it is a good ‘old faithful’ that has tonnes of life and hacks left in it. Thank you so much for making me think before making yet another ‘wear once’ dress! X

Thanks so much for your comments and it really made me think. For me Vivmom was and still is a huge inspiration for me. I remember her holding up a New Look pattern for trousers saying it was a good one (6517). I would never have considered that pattern at all if I hadn't watched her and it is my most made trouser pattern! I do try not to be swayed by the pattern cover and sometimes search instagram for images, sadly with the Big 4 they are hard to find though. NL 6650 was my own discovery though, I bought it for my daughter when she was pregnant would you believe! We discovered then it did a great job of disguising a tummy 😂. Hi - I had that New look Pattern N6650 and I didn't like the way it looked, but your version is great and I see you moved up the ties to the higher waist and I agree it is better.

Thanks Jeanette, I know a lot of people don't like this dress and it really depends on where those ties sit on you. Right around the middle really isn't a good look for most people!
