Yes each country gets to elect a commissioner who are the drivers of legislation, but I don’t know about you but I’m not that trusting of politicians in the first place let alone reducing the peoples awareness of who’s running the show and possibly influenced by the institution they are voting their commissioner into and speaking on behalf of a whole nation. That’s not at all watering down democracy and I think Nigel Farage calling out the EU President, Van Rompuy is indicative of the problem… He said, he looked like a damp rag and had the charisma of a low paid bank clerk! As comical as it was, most important was his end remarks, “Who are you president? I’ve never heard of you, no one in Europe has ever heard of you, who voted for you! I’m sure you are competent, capable and dangerous and will be the quiet assassin of European democracy”! He was fined hefty for his comment. Yes Rompuy was elected but the point was he came out of nowhere, he was prime minister of Belgium for a year and if you read up on bio he went from being a staunch defender of borders in the early naughties to free for all by the time he became president of EU. - inject a little sarcasm on my last comment but I’m not exaggerating about the dilution of representation am I?

Nigel the latest from the EU regarding the recent medicine issue is deeply deeply concerning. I have to be honest and say that I have not actually come across one person remainers included who can explain the logic to Von De Leyen's latest bullying attempts let alone the morality of her comments and potential intended actions.
@TBarton78493 жыл бұрын
The factvwere ahead of the game is brilliant and promising but to reduce day-to-day life to jab ot no jab? That's not global Britain that's like a life after a Nuclear war.
@icarus8773 жыл бұрын
@Grumpy Skipper You are either very easily lead or I suggest a trip to seek assistance from a mental health professional. That is simply not true and even the desperate Von Dr Leyen hasn't come up with that inane drivel. The truth is the EU did not secure contracts with the medicine companies because of a stipulation the EU placed in the negotiations which amongst other things was that no order was to be considered live until the EMA had passed the medicine as safe which they were very late in doing. Now I suggest you go away and find out the facts before you respond again to prevent you making an even bigger fool of yourself than you already have.

@Grumpy Skipper Common thieves hahaha! Thousands of EU citizens will not be around soon. It wont be the fault of "the common thieves" but the fault of the incompetent vindictive cabal led by Von der Lying ,Microbe and Mutti Merkel. Your wonderful EU has failed miserably and EU citizens will be paying the price. The cabal will have blood on its hands if it already hasnt.

Too bad Churchill was a warmonger......Churchill never saw a war he did NOT like! Churchill was vastly over-rated. WW2 was mother's milk to that old warhorse. He was bred for it. That is why as soon as the war ended the Brits shit-canned him. Then he dragged his cousin FDR into the war. Ya, they were cousins in case you did not know as well as Douglas Mac Arthur. At least Mac Arthur knew what war was really like and did not romanticize it like those two scoundrels, Churchill and FDR! War was a great fantasy for those two warmongers where they could act out their most diabolical fantasies!

I am 73 and lived in former socialist Czechoslovakia. Of course we can discuss what was bad or good! Since 50s each decade was better nevertheless we had been comparing our life with western one which undisputably seemed to be better one. Today we also have reached this goal and can compare again. To be honest l would return back many times !The west isn ´t as used to be in sixties till eighties! Everything went worse. Consumer way of life is destroying society, growing bribery criminality, growing drogs addiction , aggressivity among prople and selfishness, immigration, .. In 1969 when l was a student l worked a half year in Western Germany. It was incredible paradise on Earth at that time! Later on l have been visiting Germany many times up to now! Today, Germany, togegher with all western Europe is a disaster! Ugly and dangerous place to live! Today l believe I understand the real values of human life and difference between socialism and capitalism.

I am grateful that there is someone who is as concerned as I am about our nation. They used to mock you, yet now I see other MEPs, not English, but applauding you, and what you say. Send each of them a selection of the times you have been mocked, but then been proven right, and these proofs are from recordings in their own parliament. In time, less time than many of them are ready to admit, they will become the very thing they are in denial of. Didn't someone say something like "Cometh the hour, cometh the man."
