Ok, the main reason women would hire private investigators back in the 50’s is not to find out if their husbands are cheating (they probs already know) but to find evidence of extramarital affairs, so when the divorce is filed, the cheater would pretty much lose everything and the divorce will be approved no questions asked. Back in the day, you had to provide evidence of extramarital affairs in order for the court to approve the divorce and for the spouse (who was cheated on) to receive compensation; as it was very much next to impossible to get a divorce in those times, it was very frowned upon.

@LunarEleven3 жыл бұрын
As far as I know that has not changed. In any divorce one person has to sue the other (even if it's mutual.) If you then wish to receive alimony or settle assets in your favor you must prove there's a reason you are entitled to compensation (cheating being one viable reason.)
@LunarEleven3 жыл бұрын
Also just a note on the historical stigma around divorce- cheating was not considered an acceptable a reason to leave your partner back then. You were expected to make it work. The person who was cheated on would be blamed for not being an adequate spouse, forcing their partner to look elsewhere for whatever they failed to provide.
@snooganslestat20303 жыл бұрын
@@LunarEleven Where? There is no fault divorce ie you do not have to provide a reason. Even without for a Very long time people have used the reason of marriage being irretrievably broken which is also something which is equally no fault. Yes one person initiates the divorce which is also sometimes called sueing but not the same intent. In the UK and USA Alimony payments are made(not always awarded sometimes its a clean break with no money awarded) based on how the couple have lived financially during the marriage and what their financial situation is now that they have seperated. It is NOT based on who did what wrong in the marriage. No one is paid anything by way of punishment or reward.

Technically those messages could also be send by someone who doesn't know the other person is in a relationship. And that's where the person has to step up and tell them they're in a relationship. I disagreed with a lot of what you stated in this video: 1) starting or initiating the conversation or act does not mean the person who reciprocated is not in the wrong, If a minor, for example, started acting sexual toward someone over 18 and that individual decided to reciprocate, it is not the minors wrongdoing but the person who reciprocated, knowing full well the individual was a minor. Of course, there are defenses the perpetrator can use when in court to justify their actions to an extent but I think we can both agree that the minor starting the interaction does not mean the offender did not commit a criminal offence. 2) You do not need to be in a shitty or horrible relationship to understand your own boundaries and limits or even get stronger. Most people know their boundaries well before they enter any horrible or toxic relationship, the relationship just ends up breaking the individual down to the point where they are unable to leave and respect their own boundaries because the person they loved was unable to do the same. 3) Going through such events is not what makes the individual stronger, the individuals themselves learn to get stronger even after all they've been through, the individual gets stronger only because of themselves, not because of the horrible events. The events are what break them down, to the point where they need to regain their strength on their own. Some of what you stated can be interpreted in a harmful manner, such as victim blaming etc. I'm aware that was not your intention since I've been watching your videos for a while, I simply wanted to correct some of those statements.

UK and Europe kinda confused me bc the UK still is in Europe, just not the eu anymore
@stagnantfox30273 жыл бұрын
To be fair the opposite is more confusing. Uk culture is so detached from europe that it's more like america than europe imo. It's america minus the school and medical debts.

I had the most random dream w Leo. He invited me over to hang out and when I went to his place it was decorated in Christmas decorations (it was summertime). The decorations were pretty and had a somewhat tropical vibe to them. He also had two lit scented candles that smelled interesting, in a good way. I sat down on the couch, chatted for a bit then more friends came over. I started to meet his other friends and then they asked me if I wanted a drink from the bar before the wedding began. It was Leo’s wedding. To my surprise I asked Leo, “you’re getting married today?”, he replied “yeah it’s my wedding day”. I was a bit embarrassed because I had worn nothing close to something wedding appropriate. I was in sweats. He never told me he was getting married or that this day would he wed so I was confused and flabbergasted. I asked him if it was ok if I went home to change and he said yes. After that I woke up :/ 😂 idk I thought I’d share

This just feels like emotional manipulation as well... if my girl sent someone to 'test me', i'd be nice to the person but would not be able to say 'no' due to insecurity issues, and this could be easily misconstrued as me flirting or some shit...
@onnie.68152 жыл бұрын
So then that’s an issue within you, this isn’t emotional manipulation

I just heard some wisdom this past week about trust. If you've ever been hurt and wondered "how can I know whether I can trust someone *before* being hurt?" The answer is you can't. The good news is if you can trust you're going to be okay no matter what happens then it doesn't matter if you can trust someone else. Trusting yourself is also knowing that when someone is disloyal/disrespectful to you that you should leave if you can.

Serious question Sixteenleo: if one of those female friends started showing interest in you, would you date her? Because it seems a lot of guys have female friends who they would date, but the opposite isn't so much true.
@wolvie16183 жыл бұрын
Heck for me it's the other way around. I got a bunch of guy friends I would consider if I was still single, but all of them view me like a bro (I'm not even a guy so idk why they think that) I think it's more so 50/50

At the same time as well it’s like if they do get rejected it’s like they don’t have to take it personally. Because it’s “just a vibe check”. But you’re spot on with the weird power dynamic. There’s so much ego with these people it’s wild.

If you are thinking about loyalty testing your partner and have no logical basis for mistrusting them... you need to go see a therapist. Forreal. If you're jealous and paranoid, that'll be a lifelong toxic trait unless you get help. I promise you'll be WAY happier once you get help with it. And if by talking to a therapist you find that your partner is the toxic one, causing you to be paranoid, all the better. You can move beyond that stressful life and be happy in your relationships and find partners who you feel loved and respected by.

Hottake: Being an abusive twat who essentially stalks their own partner to "catch them in the act" is just as bad as being an abusive cheater, EVEN IF it's because of past trauma. Edit: And monitoring your partner through others counts as stalking.

ok hi. late but yk id like to put my opinion out there! i dont believe you can say theyre as bad as a cheater. ok hear me out. its still bad, like really bad, but i believe you cant put them together. like stealing and arson. theyre bad, but you cant really compare them. ok ty for listening to me ramble!

These people who want to have their partners “loyalty tested” are already proving how bad their relationship is. Trust and communication are some of the most important foundations of a relationship and if you feel the need to test your partner like this, I promise you that relationship is not worth it. You deserve better than someone you can’t trust. And also, if you loyalty test your partner and they pass, what happens next? Do you reveal to your partner that you didn’t trust them enough that you set them up like this, or do you keep this as a secret to yourself for the rest of the relationship?? Both are kinda terrible.
@nathannix32173 жыл бұрын
Or your gut feeling that your partner is cheating can be wrong and you just destroyed a relationship that could’ve gone places.
