Thank you so much Leo for pointing out that it seems only people with crazy traumatic, terrible experiences can come onto a show of talent. Don’t get me wrong of course there’s nothing wrong with people sharing hardships and traumatic experiences, we all have them. But I feel like it’s used as a crutch to pull on peoples heart strings to gain more views or something, so much to the point you feel like you start to resent these poor souls, not to mention many others who’ve worked hard to be where they are are overlooked and casted aside. What I like to hear most of the time is people with golden retriever energy and positive stories, especially those that maybe start at the bottom and work their way up, or people talking about how much they love their families, or even how much they love what they do for a living or talents and hobbies! We get beat over the head with negativity and I feel like it contributes to a lot of people in society using the victim complex as an excuse for everything they do or having it define them or making it their entire world. Of course I’m not saying you must be positive all the time but the ENDLESS sop stories are really too much and can be triggering after a while, positive stories should be praised just as much!
