I like how former President Nixon was gracious when addressing his fans, about whole heartedly supporting President Kennedy if he won!

Damn right I would have voted for him but you know the thing that's hard is the fact that 3 years later he's dead he would have been a 2 term president

And there would not have been a Vietnam War because Kennedy had ordered a full pullout of US troops by the end of 1965. NSAM 263 signed in October 1963.

1960 was a unique election year in one way: It was the first in which Alaska and Hawaii both had Electoral College votes, and the last one before the District of Columbia had EC votes. DC would be granted Electoral College votes in 1961,, to be effective in 1964.

John F Kennedy is one of the best president America had. Iam not American but I remember the entire mourned on his death. They used to say that after 30 years the truth will come out but never did, its all conspiracies. I don't think it ever be solved. How can the sleep at night knowing they murdered a president? Tragic loss for the world. RIP JOHN F KENNEDY AND JOHN F KENNEDY JR.

Respectfully, Kennedy was overrated, but few dare to criticize a fallen man, killed in office. Beyond establishing the peace corps, spearheading the moon mission, opening up talks fir nuclear disarmament, drafting the Civil rights act, he accomplished little. And even then, he was unable to implement the Civil Rights Act or exact a real Soviet commitment to disarmament. It took Johnson to accomplish most of Kennedy's objectives.

With due respect to your opinion, let's remember that JFK'S term was cut short while LBJ had more than a full term to do what he did. Anyway, we are not to judge who did more or better. We are only after the dream of JFK which is freedom and true peace for all men regardless of color and creed.

@@paulitaalmazan6742 My opinion is unpopular, understandably, but with all due respect, Kennedy really wasn't skilled in dealing with congress and could barely get his objectives passed. Johnson was far more effective. I might add that despite his success in the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy got America into trouble in the first place by putting missiles in Turkey - after overseeing defeat at the Bay of Pigs. Had Nixon been in charge, he would have ran Ike's plans to the T, would have overthrown Castro.

@@broadstreet21, I would agree with you. Kennedy is overrated. Maybe, had he had more time, he would have done great for the country, but, unfortunately, it was not to be. But, yes, I agree with you: he is overrated.

@@mohameddiaby835 It's not to say he didn't do any good. He was a force of inspiration that made Americans feel good about themselves. He put a dream before them, about achieving social and economic equality, about going to the moon, about achieving world peace. Thing is, it's one thing to have a dream. It's another thing to go out and make it happen. Given that Kennedy happened to have a talented cabinet, plenty of resources, he underachieved. Johnson inherited those resources and achieved a lot.
