Great reaction again. The Budokan is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics, but now a hugely prestigious venue for concerts and the place Japanese artists aspire to play at - not many actually get there. This was in March 2014 and they played two nights (Red and Black) with the release their first album. BABYMETAL became the youngest average age female band to headline the Budokan - they sold it out 2 nights running. Su-metal was just 16, Yui and Moa were still only 14. The Kami Band finally became their full time support for all live shows from here on. In this video you got the 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' instrumental intro (it isn't on the album, that is an exclusive Kami Band live thing). That night they were Leda CYgnus and Takayoshi Ohmura (guitars), BOH (bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). 'Rondo of Nightmare' is probably their darkest song lyrically. Su is caught in a recurring nightmare being chased through the dark by something she can't see. Finally she hides but still it comes closer and accepting there is no escape she asks that if she is to die will it at least show itself to her. The Kami Band intro is so good ... and then 16 year old Su-metal rises up, singing and dancing on a small platform high above the stage in the darkness, all spotlights on her so she probably can't even see the edges of her platform - and she completely owns the whole place. I'm looking forward to see what BABYMETAL song and performance you will react to next (you already have my suggestion, I'll add to that in due course).

Great reaction 🤘👀👍 First off the people who say that anybody that watches BABYMETAL are pedos are the ones with the problem.....if the first thing you think about is sex when you see young talented girls you need to go seek help. Anyway BABYMETAL is not pop or metal....they are BABYMETAL and one of a kind and that goes for the girls, the band and the whole organization. It's fun and wholesome and in these times that is what we need 🤘😷👍

Rondo Of Nightmare/With Mischief Of God Intro KamiBand:- The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL. Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:- •Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Twinkle Pink). •Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLUE CUSTOM). •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature Drum Kit). Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse:- BABYMETAL is the youngest act to perform at the Budokan and artists need to be invited to perform there. Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse (stylized as LIVE AT BUDOKAN ~RED NIGHT & BLACK NIGHT APOCALYPSE~)[a] is the third live video release by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It contains two concerts performed at Nippon Budokan shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album, and was released on January 7, 2015 in a standard edition and a limited-edition box set exclusively for "The One" fanclub members. Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. [Rondo of Nightmare]:- Akumu no Rondo [Rondo of Nightmare] is a song from BABYMETAL's first original album, BABYMETAL, by SU-METAL. ⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 This performance is my standard answer to anyone who says that BABYMETAL aren't really metal. It's already epic, and THEN Su rises up from beneath the stage. Sure, it's brave of her to sing and dance on a small raised platform in the dark. But true courage is following that Kami Band instrumental with a solo song. : ) "Rondo" had it's world premiere the previous evening at Budokan Red Night. This was the Black Night at Budokan on March 2nd 2014, with Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars and Hideki Aoyama on drums. And of course BOH on bass. Not that many people play a six stringed bass to begin with, let alone tap one like that.

_Akumu No Rinbukyoku_ (or Akumu No Rondo for many japanese, even that's what SuMetal sings) is one of the most darkest song from Babymetal and is my favorite SuMetal solo, followed slightly close by _Akatsuki_ and _No Rain No Rainbow_ Temporarily title song was "Kill The Alice", so is like an Alice but instead of Wonderland she is in a nightmare trying to escape and avoid some evil entity. Rondo is a musical form in wich you can hear a repetitive pattern, you can hear an example of this in the song of "David Burke - Blue Rondo a la Turk", you can notice that pattern here too, some other element you can spot is the piano like a "dark waltz" songs. Kami Band deserves their spot, it's almost natural you felt in love with the band too, in this case the two guitarrist were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura, Boh on bass killing it, and Aoyama Hideki (son of another famous drum musician) on drums. Kami Band intros are kinda rare, sometimes even are not in the same song which makes it unique, and only during certain songs like: _Catch Me If You Can, Rondo Of Nightmare, Awadama Fever, YAVA!, Kagerou (West Kami Band intro)_ I'm always amazed of our queen doing this unique performance with that dangerous platform rising up while she's doing some dance moves here and there and the Kami Band rotating beneath her feet. In case you don't know MoaMetal and YuiMetal are taking a break here during SuMetal solo and preparing for their next Black Babymetal song, is intended to be this way so they can rest in between performances, try some Black Babymetal songs you're gonna like it too, probably _GJ!._ would be a good one for first time watch for you. Thanks for coming back with more BM songs, and may the Fox God bless you! \m/ _LIVINGLEGEND_ _10BABYMETALYEARS_

Hey Jake, good spot on the Rondo reference. You can hear it in the interludes between the solos of the Kami Band in The Mischief of the Gods intro, and you can hear it in the transitions when Su is in her solo. Rondos are a classical music device, predominantly used in Baroque performances. Babymetal's writers seemingly know this as they used the Baroque heavy, Devil's Tri-tone, or the Devil's Triad, in Megitsune. I can't say more so as not to spoil Sixx Dayz reaction to this song should he choose to go there.

Love this! The Kami Band opening up and totally destroying it! Only to be followed by the Queen rising from the depths... Who is then elevated to her rightful position where she completely owns it. I love how during the soft part, Su-metal looks like a marionette hanging from strings. The spooky atmosphere they created for this performance is the best I've ever seen. The red light on Su with blue light in the background makes a dream effect, and the camera shaking from the volume of the music just adds to the power of the performance. It's amazing that just four years prior to this performance these girls had no idea what heavy metal was. And when they first heard it, it scared them. Now look at them. I've seen fans mention a feeling of pride in the girls about how far they've come and what they've achieved. I feel that, too. You feel like you are on the journey with them as a fan. I love that about this band. Another enjoyable reaction, Bobb !

Another great reaction and selection of BabyMetal song. You got to be invited to play in Budokan Arena, they've been invited since their young ages, and maybe I'm wrong, they haven't even released their first self titled album at the time and had 2 sold out nights live. They often to had a one and an hour lengths live duration, and therefore our 2 little princesses got their deserved rest they need. Su-Metal have 4 solo songs, and there also time for her to rest for a while and Black BabyMetal, consist of Yui-Metal and Moa-Metal will appear on stage. Thank you and will be waiting for your another BabyMetal reaction, keep the good work.

The members of Kami Band are all very talented, really great. However, Su-'s vocals are as good as their playing. In the presence of the Queen, they are happy to be her servants. You almost did not smile when you listened to this song. Depending on their songs, we laugh, cry, get serious, we react. That is why BABYMETAL is so weird, "What the hell!", I think.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Kamis' (=Gods') super plays were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently and turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her. This song has not been performed since 2017. I really want them to revive this song like they did this year for NRNR, Akatsuki, OD, FDTD and GJ! at the Budokan, the same venue in this video.

Great reaction. the shortest seven minutes of our lives. The fearlessness of Su-metal. Think about that she is on a platform 2 meters wide 2 meters up without any safety equipment. Lights on her face, there is no chance that she can see where she is standing, okay if you stand still but she takes some dance moves and then there are the thing with your mind playing with you when you know you are on an elevated platform. And the night before, Yui-metal fell of the stage so she must have had that in her mind too. Kitsune up 🤘🦊🤘/4 from ヨーテボリ

Looking forward to the next one, no matter which it is In a livestream where he talked about this performance, one of the guitarists (who also does vocals in some of his other projects) said that Su-metal must be a prodigy for how well she sang this song; the vocal parts have a different time signature than the instrumentals. "That caught me completely off guard." Well, it's Babymetal. You have to expect that. So many guards left that you are going to be completely off of. They change it up with every song. I kid you not. EVERY song. They don't have a sound. The only common denominator is a good feeling and smiles. Can't wait to see more. When are you getting your Babymetal shirt? The huge smile that blessed your face when Boh started tapping his bass is the equivalent of any other reactor jumping out of their chair and screaming with joy. I saw that. Let it out, my friend. You know you want to. :-) Kitsune up! PS: I'm old enough to be these girl's grandparent. I feel a protective feeling for them. I think that's something we all share, no matter our ages. Su is a soprano with a range of C4 to G#5 and even hits G#6 in a duet with Rob Halford of Judas Priest (singing Painkiller and Breaking The Law). So far, you've only heard her sing when she was in her teens but she's 23 now (24 in Dec) and her voice has just grown stronger. I'd recommend some of the songs from the last album but I listened to what you said (and watched all the video!) so I won't! I'm sure you'll get around to reacting to all their back catalogue eventually. Kitsune up!

Hey Bobb, another great reaction to a classic Babymetal live performance. Babymetal often pays tribute to bands, musicians and music styles. The Rondo was the theme of this song. Apart from having virtuosic musicianship in the intro it was interspaced with repeating patterns between the band solos. Rondo. Su also forms some non-classical rondo vocal patterns before her transitions. Another feature of this song is when Su goes into her marionette stance and the temper of her voice changes to a more electronic sounding voice. Many people think this effect is electronically produced on a backing track, Others think (including an Emmy award winning singer) this is a naturally produced sound given by Su diverting her breathing and her voice from her oral passage to her nasal passage (I am not up on the body mechanics of this). A clue might be looking at Su's microphone position during this interlude. The mike is placed at the tip of her nose, not near her mouth. My thoughts are that it is probably a bit of both. Babymetal is open about their history of playing to backing tracks. From Babybones to screams. Also, it is clear that Su uses backing tracks of her own voice to harmonize with herself, because there is no Yui or Moa to support her in this song. I suspect the controversial change of voice is a combination of Su using a very technical vocal technique over a sampled harmonized backing track, a skillful on-site mixer, and some superb post-production work to clean the sound up. To finish the comment off: Yes, the lyrics are about a dream where Su is being chased by demons or monsters (more to it than that, but this is already a long comment) I know you don't take requests from comments here, but if anyone on IG, Tik Tok or mail suggest Megitsune, I say hell yes. There is no bad version of this song, but the official music video is most culturally significant. Kitsune Up.
