These days technology gives us a peek into many lives outside our own. Thanks to Instagram, Nikki Sixx was able to do this with Jared James Nichols, a man Sixx had zero hesitation putting on MFR due to the incredible sound he produces from the ol' six string. You'll just have to see for yourself.

Got to love a guy who digs Epiphone and not afraid to admit it. Half of all my guitars are Epi's.

I've got a (1997) LP-100, but have had to upgrade or replace nearly every component on it. I think that's the issue most people have with Epi stuff.

I had this weird MIJ (as opposed to Chinese-made) Epiphone Les Paul that weighed like 4 lbs. I think it was chambered or something. I wish I still had it.

He gets paid for saying that. Charlie Dougherty from the Les Paul Forum loaned him a 1954 (or 1953) Gibson named ol' red (used to be a Goldtop but it got a refin back in the day) and that's his main instrument right now. The original Old Glory was a Gibson too. If he would get an offer from Gibson he'd drop Epiphone in a heartbeat..

Never heard of this guy but I'm thoroughly impressed. Simple, yet effective playing.
@Olegstuff21986
@Olegstuff21986 2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's that simple, he's got a lot of dynamics going on, actually. But yeah, he sticks to a more bare bones, blues-based kind of guitar style but I think he tries to add some new flavours to it. He comes from a hard rock/metal background, so there are a lot of tricks and ideas from there, plus he has the classic blues background and you can incorporate a lot of techniques from that style, which he does.

JJN is def. a "one to watch" player ...... he brings a fresh (but classic) approach that's been buried by all the overly technical stuff, for too long ...... it's great to hear "THE RIFF" take it's place again !

I’m not familiar with this guest, but I’m very impressed with his sense of time. A lot of guitarists, when they’re playing by themselves and demonstrating licks and so on, tend to rush through the phrases. But this guy hears the time in his head and respects it. As a drummer, I love players like this.

Whatever that song was that Jared was playing, I think he should lead into the main riff with that solo at 17:17 as part of its intro or something. I feel like it could be iconic when played live, similar to the intros in GnR's Welcome to the Jungle or ACDC's Thunderstruck. Just my humble opinion.
