In a market where these types of knives are rare (The fully functional assisted compact knife) this is one of the better ones on the market for the price. CRKT makes quality products, not bougie or amazing, just good and functional. Looks...? I own every model of the CRKT Squid and the full size assisted (with the upgrade steel) has been my EDC for the past 2 or 3 years. Why? Because if I lose one or destroy a blade, I won't be breaking the bank reordering it and putting it back in my pocket. Civivi products are the same. Sure, I have a Benchmade and a Boker. But I prefer to "use" my knives every day and they tend to get beat up. The price to quality is what i'm always looking at. Cool review though thumbs up

Working at a walmart deli, i have a safety boxcutter with a guard in one of the pockets of my vest i use to open up our raw chicken boxes and i use a regular size squid to open everything else ^^ easy to move, nice and slicey, points well enough for what i need, its great, and a better carry for my everyday than my buck 110

If you put a pinkie lanyard on it, you get that extra little bit of control and it feels real solid in your hand.

I have the CRKT Squid XM. And I like it. But I wish that CRKT would make a CRKT Squid XM with either 12C27 Sandvik or 14C28N Sandvik.
