Sizzler Toast Recipe!
Ingredients
5kg margarine (room temperature)
1.5kg grated parmesan cheese
Thick bread
Method
PLACE mixing bowl on mixer and attach paddle
PLACE 5kg margarine at room temperature, in mixing bowl (splash guard in place)
WHIP margarine on speed two (2) for five (5) minutes
STOP mixer, remove splash guard, scrape down sides using a rubber spatula, replace splash guard
WHIP on speed three (3) for a further five (5) minutes, stop mixer, remove splash guard
ADD parmesan cheese to margarine in mixer bowl, replace splash guard
WHIP on speed three (3) for a further five (5) minutes, remove splash guard
TRANSFER whipped margarine/cheese from mixer bowl to storage container
SPREAD toast bread on ONE SIDE of each slice using a rubber spatula or similar utensil. Margarine must be at least 2mm (1/16 inch) thick on each slice of bread, spread must cover the bread so that the bread grain is not seen
PLACE buttered bread on sheet pan
LINE each layer of bread with paper
REPEAT until the tray is full or is stacked six (6) slices high, maximum
PLACE tray with buttered bread in clean plastic bag and fold opening under to ensure freshness
PLACE under refrigeration until ready to toast

Turns out I've been doing it right all along, but thanks for the vid, thanks for confirming. My Mum taught me this recipe 30 years ago, she never worked at Sizzler, but we went there often and loved the cheese bread. I'm guessing that my Mum got the recipe from Womens Weekly lol

You are the man ! Thank you for this recipe. Definitely going to try it out and take a trip down memory lane when sizzlers were around. I don’t know why they closed down… they were awesome !!! Food was great and I even enjoyed their salad bar.

AWESOME. Now please do a video on the Chicken Hibachi sauce. The original one ..... they changed it at some point, it became too much like BBQ sauce.

@@deliciouslife9038 I heard a while ago that they made the hibachi sauce at the restaurant at one point. I believe that they also switched to buying the chicken from places like Sysco etc. There was a definite difference, and not for the better. The management of Sizzler just did not understand that, when running a restaurant, you don't mess with the food for lower quality. People can tell the difference. Hence their downfall. I can only think of one Sizzler location now, and too far for me to even consider going to.

Unfortunately I am just finding out about this. But I wondered, Is it normally only supposed to be cooked on one side, and not the other? Or are you supposed to do both sides. And both with the mixture or one toasted without?

from memory the underside was always soft and fluffy, which aligns with what he did. I tried a similar thing when I was a kid but on both sides (and with slightly thinner bread) and while you'd think it would be better- it wasn't; it became too strong and while it still tasted similar it was too much of a good thing.

Originally the cheese was on both sides of the bread. I stopped going to Sizzler when they cheapened it and only put the cheese on one side, as did thousands of other people. This is why they closed down. If you mess with the food to cut costs, the customers know and don't come back.

Why the hell is this a 7 minute video on how to mix butter and cheese and fry it in a pan? I would say one minute tops and even that's kind of long for such nonsense.
