Never apologize for testing their released cameras with X firmware. If they market them aware of the bugs they deserve the truth in the initial review. Again, well done Techmoan, Production quality of a high standard. Keep it up Mate. Your next holiday should be Victoria Australia where you would enjoy CELEBRITY status, (Lord Techmoan maybe ?) .... and possibly a cameo on 'Home & Away' ?

You could have mentioned the reason there is so many men riding bikes around that area is because Bradley Wiggins lives near by. I know the area well because Im from Shevy, but sometimes it takes me a while to figure out which road you are on.

I'm interested in purchasing a dashcam, but, are they a high-theft item? The last thing I want to do is drop $50-$150 and have it stolen. I would like to have it out at all times without taking it off and putting it into the center console every time I get in and out of the car.

If you're after a better suction mount for a windshield, try one of the three-suction types on eBay, i still wouldn't trust it for a long duration, and always with a tether, but it has more traction than the single cup variety.

I'm interested to know how you attached the camera to your pocket as the video quality looks good without having to attach an awkward looking device to your motorcycle helmet. Cheers.
@Techmoan10 жыл бұрын
Steven Doyle I just shoved the suction cup mount and arm seen in the video into my breast pocket and made sure the camera was pointing outward...nothing clever. You can do the same by attaching anything to the bottom of the camera to ensure it peeks over the top of a pocket rather than drops into it.
@LadyRiderc10 жыл бұрын
Techmoan Nice touch, but If you put in a breast pocket, is it securely fitted, it is not influenced by wind to much? Or getting out of place by for instance moving of your body?
@Techmoan10 жыл бұрын
Cathelijne de Wit No its just a camera shoved in a pocket - I'm slightly perplexed by the amount of interest in this - so lets put it another way - you find a potato on a stick on the floor - you are wearing a suit jacket - you draw a face on the potato that looks a bit like W. C. Fields, you want everyone to see your handiwork so you put the potato face pointing out of your top pocket...that's kind of how it works...but the potato is a camera, the stick is a mount that isn't being used as a mount and the face of W.C. Fields is a lens.
@LadyRiderc10 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, well haven't found many potatoes on a stick on the floor lately..... But it's interesting because were all looking for the best way to set a camera. I ride a BMW and tried also on the windshield, front wheel.but too much vibrations. I tried one before on my jacket but it didn't stick.....
@Techmoan10 жыл бұрын
Cathelijne de Wit It's more of an in-a-pocket rather than an on-the-pocket type deal. Find a mini tripod (the cheap nasty ones a bit shorter than the length of a pencil, they usually cost £1 and come in a pack with a lens cleaning cloth and a lens puffer - then attach it to your camera using the tripod screw - perhaps stick also a flat piece of cardboard to the tripod to keep it from rotating in your pocket. You'll also need a breast pocket on the outside of your jacket.

Hi Techmoan, I was considering the SJ series for a while, however you might have put me off with this review, would you still recommend the Sony AS30 over this? the price on Amazon has gone up. I like the fact the SJ can be used as a car dashcam as well as an action cam, which I believe the Sony can't do loop recording? I'd prefer bullet/drift style cam rather than gopro shape ones ideally... Ideally i'd like a cam for around £100 that can do a bit of everything; from making KZbin vids, used as a dashcam car, and eventually a helmet cam for a motorbike once I can afford one. Also you've ridden past my house in Ulnes Walton in a couple of your vids; i'll keep an eye out for a Honda NC700 and give a wave :-)

mark tomlin i popped in there the other day, but the 1080p at 15fps made me think that it's just another camera - nothing amazing, but probably perfectly adequate. Dear Techmoan on your blog you said, on the 27th Feb : "From what I understand SJCAM.COM is run by a company called Viofo Ltd who presumably nabbed the SJCAM.COM address before the SJCAM's true manufacturers could. " This was to say how stupid i was to buy a FRAUD (paid and no delivery!) M10 camera from SJCAM.COM! But i see firmware updates from the same SJCAM.com !! And i have never seen your warning , you are so detailed and precise in some analysis and such less on others.... maybe less important like the equipement has two sites and one is for the FRAUD....
@Techmoan10 жыл бұрын
RNDiogo1972 No I was just responding to your comment when you said you had bought the camera directly from the manufacturers - it though it would be useful information for you when pursuing your case (or so I believed at the time). There's no point in you writing to the wrong people. I've never linked to SJCAM.COM or SJCAMHD.COM - I only link to ebay and Amazon because that's how I earn my affiliation commissions.

I can't believe it.... I Google action cam for motovlog and get this URL. Not only does it seem like a decent camera, but it also looks like you own the Honda NC... I just bought my NC750 about a week ago (hence my search for a cheap action camera), and I was born in Manchester... which I think from your videos you may well be in the same area. Small World indeed. Question. The battery is a little worrying. In your opinion, is there another camera out there (Not GoPro) that does well in 1080 or 2k, which I could use on my helmet (I want to put the camera on the front of the helmet "over my mouth" so to speak). Loving the channel and already subscribed and checking a few others out.

Hopefully, not too much of a critisism Techmoan , but have you considered taking the Advanced Riding (or Driving) test? I'm NOT a biker, but am a tutor in car for IAM and RoSPA... Techmoan ... Generally, your reviews are brilliant, and quite valuable to the great unwashed .. who basically don't trust the specs that accompany the camera in question. is there an index of your reviews? Better still, have you ever reviewed "Action Cameras", that can be used as WebCams for a PC or even a Mac? Also.. a really big question, that is rarely discussed, is the ability to vary the shutter speed, to reduce blurring... Then again... no Camera marketer has a clue what "shutter speed" is.. They often call it "brightness control".. and tout how wonderful theirs is 'cause it's AUTOMATIC ... big woop! I would really appreciate some info on the ones where you can TURN OFF the "automatic" brightness control .. and then set a shutter speed where I'll provide the light nesessary to see what's going on. What do you require for this information... pizzas & beer delivered to your home? Regards, Michael
