Yeah. In my opinion, it's one of the best sounding snares on the market, but the price kills it completly :(. Maybe SJC Drums are going to be more popular around the world. Hopefully the prices go less then.

Sounds dead at low tuning (which is to be expected with hole of that size, and the shell being so dense). But seems to be really responsive at high tuning, love that

Not a fan of that ring at allll but I'm sure with a tiny bit of dampening it'll properly crack

So then tune it low or medium. Drums tend to ring no matter what once the tension hits a certain level. Obviously is at a different level for each snare, but generally you’d just tune it lower until you got the ringing at your preferred volume or lack thereof.

@@mattlathandrums I wouldn't be that fond of a low tuned snare. The compromise here would be higher tuned with a lot of dampening to get rid of the ring
