It's not that amazing tbh. Your leg movements are same speed and go in unison with your right hand. So if you match that and squeeze snare hits in the same tempo between hits of your right hand you get a blast beat. It's very simple.

my guess is to let the song breathe more, sometimes having super fast double bass isn't what's best the song. also its in the verse so it could have had to do with the mix and making sure that coreys vocals are more up front and the double bass isn't all you hear.

I would have loved to hear his kit & this song being played through studio earbuds,head phones or ear monitors vs hearing it through open room audio. Example: Its just like hearing Tommy Lees kit on a go pro/etc video where the camera man was recording Tommy while standing directly beside him on the drum riser and using that same live audio source to use with the video vs using the crowd heard or ear monitor audio.IOW,when you're in the crowd during a show,every instrument being played & vocals are being blasted through a huge sound system,so what you hear as an audience member sounds powerful & loud enough to shake the floor at times.However,when you're just standing there beside the kit,it sounds horrible IMO.Theres nothing I like to hear more than when I'm playing my kit through headphones while in the studio.Everything sounds so clean,crisp & big.
@Virvum_Juggernaut
@Virvum_Juggernaut Жыл бұрын
I hear ya man. I prefer to hear myself play through a mix in the headphones too and I love the natural sound of an acoustic kit. At least the mics picked up every aspect of his kit and you must admit that the levels were at least pretty fat because Jay does everything loud, with oodles of power. Edit : I would have loved to be in that room when he is playing. It would vibrate your very soul.
