With egg timer I've got stuttering timelapse, maybe the timer was too cheap. Built-in gyro is a great thing! I spent ours and ours on my StorM32 board and in the end throw it away. Colours and sharpness are stunning! Great Review, think I get myself one.

Yes the results are vibrant straight out of the camera. Low light and narrow views increase the noise and blocky tones but still OK

The xiaomi yi is a decent budget choice, that also can shoot 1440p and has a video out feed for fpv.

Good point, I should have done some comparisons. Cant use ext mic with the M20 unfortunately but the onboard mic is quite good. Level can be adjusted from 1 to 10, picks up lots of wind noise like the Mobius and GoPro.

Thanks, the M20 is not great for low light.You can choose shutter speed up to 60sec and ISO1600 but the results will be very very grainy. Best to use widest angle of view because the quality degrades if you zoom in. I use 1080 30 for video. The gyro does work very well for walking and flying

Excellent and thorough review Andrew! I have the same GoPro as you and I've also found its video blurry and greenish - even when there's plenty of light. Thought mine might be a dud, so that's good news! The Runcam2 I've been using for a few months is way better than my gopro and has nearly identical features to the M20. Cheers!

Hi Andrew When select wide angle with GYRO off the angle is 166 degrees but when GYRO is on how narrower it is ? it significant ? Still wide enough to capture landscape photo ? Thank you

Love the Mobius, probably the best for onboard footage when considering shape and weight, has great colour, contrast and sharpness and they are all adjustable. Minor negatives - Auto WB sometimes takes a while to settle, jpeg artefacts sometimes appear in blue sky areas with fast panning.

Great review Andrew! Looks to be a great little camera, real shame SJCAM didn't use the GoPro form factor like they have in the past... when I do upgrade my original Yi Cam' I want something that will fit my gimbal.

I liked the softer Giro stab effect Andrew....I would be interested to see what the live video Out for FPV use is like..?.....Like most action Cameras, but unlike the Mobius, it's like bolting on a breeze block to your plane, not exactly aero is it..?..lol....That said, I was glad to see you have it side by side with the Moby....it's smaller than I expected....and the screen is most useful when filming in the normal manner....A great review Andrew....Thanks m8.

You're right, can't just tape it on a wing like I do with the mobius. FPV/Video out mode to be tested as soon as I find the right lead, not included.

I don't mind that M20 Andrew. Pity I've just ordered the new M2 Mobius though, although I could be tempted to spend some more hard earned retirement money. Great review Andrew on the SJCAM it did look a lot better than the Go-Pro and the price is good like you said ----So message to TOMTOP make sure you have plenty of stock after Andrews review you will need extra...

If there's any cons about it, I hope it would be fixed through firware upgrade just as my SJCAM 4000 wifi. Before firmware, it had so-so video quality. But since 1.4 firmware upgrade, it just get better.

The app became buggy with the latest update from V3 to V3.1 but they don't even mention the M20 in relation to this app so hopefully improvements will come.

I use my SJC4000 as recorder and live feed to vtx. So, not much of video over wifi.

Andrew Newton I happened to make it my self from micro USB Cable and soldered it to servo lead cable to get 3 nodes (video, audio and neg), Andrew. Quite difficult to find one here in Indonesia.

That's brilliant, I'm disappointed with my gopro(s) footage after almost every flight - dull & faded. It used to be the best. I've found the runcam2 gives a better image, this looks really good too. I guess gopro is too busy building drones. Thx for reviewing. No video out comments for fpv?

Glad you agree about the GoPro. The M20 does have an FPV setting for video out.

Sure it's a great camera but has the same problem as most , Every frickin gimbal made is made for the frickin gopro . I have 3 novatech cameras under the name UltraPro-X Cam-4 and they are super little cameras but they are just about 5mm too tall to fit anyone's (GoPro) gimbal . I am looking at a storm32 3 axes gimbal that I hope will work . I had the Cam-10 4K but think something in Wy Fi screwed it up had to send two of them back Cam-4 don't have WiFi and never had a lick of trouble out of the 3 of them . WiFi runs on 2.4gh and all my radios run on 2.4gh . Not completely sure that was the problem but was my guess . Cool camera let me know if you have any problems on down the road Cam-10 worked fine at first picture/video got worse as time went on .
