Must be one of the loudest single engine jet fighters in the world. This thing in full AB sounds like one of SpaceX's rockets lifting up kkkkk pure thunder. And the engine, as far as I know, is a P&W JT8 (from the firsts 737) build under license by Volvo with an afterburner

To me, this is still an amazing aircraft. Iconic. This was a fantastic display too. The diameter of that engine exhaust is vast! I also love the Swedish splinter pattern camo with those fluorescent orange numbers....such a powerful memory of seeing these perform at UK airshows as a boy. I still love to see them at RIAT in the display line. Thanks for the great video.

Reminds me of my summer holidays late 70's early 80's. They mostly came on Tuesday. Imagine having these aircraft dogfighting over your house when you are twelve.... Super low as well. You could even see the rivets sometimes. Rumor has it that ground crews had to pick out tree branches sometimes
