Ooh! I happen to already know that “fed the eagle” was a poetic way to say “killed people” (in battle) because eagles are apparently scavengers like vultures sometimes. Ravens too.

I would guess this song is about Ingvar the Far travelled. One of the most legendary Swedish Vikings and I would say he is my favorite (I am Swedish so might be a bit biased). He committed to fight for the Abbasids I believe and fought in a rebellion against Georgians or some Azerbaijani until he fell and most of his men made their way west or north back home. Nvm, it is. A beautiful song indeed and I hope we can find more tales from Sweden about Vikings 😄

Serkland is Byzantium correct I think I remember that from a class on Norse Sagas I took.
@FlamSparks4 жыл бұрын
The exact location of Serkland is not sure and subject to much debate. It originally indicated a not well specified caliphate in the east, but then it went on indicating several places both east and south

I'm actually a bit uncertain about that song, as it's mostly in Faroese, not in Old Norse, so I need to decide what to do with the runes...

Hey !
@FlamSparks4 жыл бұрын
Merci beaucoup à toi pour me corriger continuellement ! Cela fonctionne ?
@haniasn23654 жыл бұрын

The pronunciation of this band is indeed bad and they even fragment some of the words, but I almost just do not care. Their music is among my favourites and they simply mesmerise me. Too bad Pierrick, Justine and Matthjoe are no longer in the band... I am way too used to their voices.
